I have a serious question, I have 2 dogs, neither has shown signs of the parvovirus as of yet but they have both recently been around another dog who has tested positive for parvo, they have both been vaccinated and I am taking them today to both get boosters, do you think they could still get parvo? Is there anything else I can do?

how old are they?

If they are under six months and have not had all the vaccinatioons then it is possible. I only do my boosters every three years with my rabies and I foster parvo pups and no one gets it.

If they have recently been exposed to parvo they should not be getting vaccinations right away. This could cause their immune system to overload and they can get parvo from the vaccination. This is a bad idea. Please don't have them vaccinated so soon after exposure.

If they have been vaccinated, have the vet check a stool sample from them. This will tell you if they do or don't have parvo.

If they don't have parvo please wait at least a month before vaccinating them. Even then it isn't a good idea. Ask your vet about titer testing. This will tell you if your dog has a reasonable immunity to parvo, so that you don't over vaccinate your dogs.

Sounds like you are doing all you can by getting boosters asap. You may also want to disinfect all areas and play things the parvo dog came in contact with. Good luck

If they have had their complete course of vaccinations, they should be safe. As a precaution tho, you should keep them away from dogs with parvo - better safe than sorry and all that. There are no other preventative measures, you've done all you need do.

You should be fine. They could be carriers though as they have been around a dog who had parvo. You might want to avoid taking them to public places. It's good you vaccinated them.

If they are healthy and have had their vaccinations, they should be fine.
Generally only weak dogs (small puppies or sick dogs) are susceptible to Parvo.

If they've been kept current on their vaccinations and you're getting them a booster, they'll be fine.

Not as long as they have had their shots, they should be good.
