I just cut my hair now I found out that i need long hair for an event. What are ways to get your hair to grow faster? Please do not say cutting it becuase it's never worked for me. If vitamins work which vitamins do I have to take?

When I mean cut it I mean a usual hair cut. I will be cutting off the split ends.
I want it to grow out before I consider extensions.

A general multivitamin is best, along with general good nutrition. Drink plenty of water. I know that you don't want to cut it more, but you need to do something to keep split ends under control. If your hair splits, it will travel up the hair shaft, causing it to break even shorter than you would have cut it. Using a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner will help prevent split ends, as will not using any kind of heat on it. No hair dryers, curling irons, or straightening irons. No coloring, no perming. Don't put anything on it but shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioning treatments.

Growing hair faster is a very common question on this site.
I have told other people that they is no way to make you hair grow faster. Hair grows 1/2" a month on average, some people more some less.
However, taking the right steps will give the illusion of your hair actually growing faster.
Eat healthy, take the correct vitamins and get regular hair cuts. Also you shouldn't wash your hair every day unless it gets oily. Excessive hair washing causes extreme dryness which leads to breakage. Try washing every other day if not every three days.
I recommend to my clients that they buy a product available at GNC called Hair, Skin and Nails. It is a natural supplement containing Keratin, the substance that your hair and nails are made up of.
Some of my clients have had some success with this product.

there is a line of products called Doo Gro. When my beautician mentioned it to me I thought the name was so lame that i wouldn't even try it. My hair had severe breakage from dyes. I figured I had nothing to lose so I used the lame name line of products and it actually works! I believe your hair can grow faster based on the care you give it. Mines has grown more in the past 4 months than it has in years. Everybody noticed and people i havent seen in a few months thought I had extensions lol And always wash and deep condition your hair at least once a week. Vitamins get so diluted in your system that they barely work when it comes to hair. My co-worker ( a pharmacist) thinks they're crap!

Martin e said it. Everyone's hair grows 1/2 inch per month. Mine tends to grow slower due to my hair bleaching and flat ironing. I only wash my hair twice a week and take a multi-vitamin along with the supplement Biotin. Biotin promotes new cell growth and will aid in faster hair growth. This has proven to work for me but everyone is different. Good luck.

well when i wanted my hair to grow longer i tried something i read in a beauty magazine.. and im not sure if thats what worked... along with my diet of course.. but my hair sure did get past that length that it seemed to ALWAYS stop growing at before. when you wash your hair [which should be every other day atleast] massage your scalp for about a minute or two. this gets the blood flowing to your scalp and supposedly helps the hair grow faster. i hope this works...

Have you thought about clip in hair extensions? They now have them at stores like Ulta and Sally's Beauty Supply.

I would recommend a hair piece or a fall if it is for an event, possibly a weave if you need it more constant
