Theology= Theo (God) + ology (study of)
Philosophy = Phil (love of) + sohpy (wisdom)
Both have Greek roots.
Philosophy covets wisom, in whatever form. Truth with a capital T.
Theology comapres and contrasts theories (hypothesis - not scientific theories) of the divine. It, too, seeks truth, but it is reticent to admit that it may not ever be found.

Philosophy = love of wisdom
Theology = study of god
Theology is more of a science than a philosophy, but borders both. There are different types of theology, including atheism (not linguistically, rather philosophically).

Philosophy or Religious Studies is the academic study. Theology is studying a religion as a member/believer of that religion.

Philosophy is the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct
Theology is the field of study and analysis that treats of God and of God's attributes and relations to the universe; study of divine things or religious truth; divinity.
So if it is about studying God it is Theology..if it is about studying the world it is Philosophy

Philosophy is the value, belief and lifestyle of an individual person, this could be about anything in the world. Theology, however, is strictly referring to religious beliefs and values. (theo meaning god, ology study of).

I think of theology as philosophy on a very specific set of topics (all having to do with god/religion) that starts on a set of assumptions based on belief (e.g. "God exists" / "Jesus is the Son of God" etc). True theologians rely on many of the same tools as philosophers (e.g. logic such as "if A=B and B=C then A=C must also be true").

Theology is the special olympics version of philosophy. It's handicapped by ridiculous presuppositions like a virgin birth.

Philosophy can be religious or non-religious. Example: Friedrich Nietzsche.
Religion is by definition concerning a deity.
