I don't know what bible you are reading to prove that he had children. There is a lot of circumstantial evidence in the bible to back up that he was married though. I believe that he was married, and I believe that he was married to Mary Magdelene. I don't think that they had any children though. Because of his divinity- it would not have been wise for him to have children. But Jesus is Perfect. Marriage is a law of God and a commandment of God, so why wouldn't he have been married. He was baptized, why not married.

Edit***

Here are some of my reasons for believeing he was married.

The whole water into wine thing- under Jewish custom it is the Groom who is responsible for providing the wine- or at least that was the custom at the time. If they were simply guests at the wedding, why would his mother have been so concerened with there being no wine? Of course that could have been a wedding for one of his siblings- which I am sure he had siblings.

There is an account where there had been a dinner held at the home of Mary Magdelene and Martha. Mary was at the feet of the savior listening to his teachings. Martha got onto her about being there and told her that she should be helping with the dinner- Jesus told Martha that Mary was right where she belonged. (of course maybe Mary just liked to hear him teach and Martha needed to lighten up a bit)

The Bible talks about how Jesus loved Lazirus, like he was a brother- that would make a lot of sense if they were in-laws. (lazirus is the brother of Mary and Martha). They could have been friends too.

Mary M along with Martha took care of his body after his death. That is the responsibilty of his family

Who was the first person he appeared to after he was ressurected? Mary Magdelene. Wouldn't it make sense that he would first appear to his wife?

Those are just a few of the instances that I think point to his having been married to Mary M.

I would say that proof reading should precede proof.

Still, except for a few warped minds, whether Jesus was married or not and whether he had children or not has nothing to do with anything except the question of whether priests can get married. I fail to understand why christians get so upset by the idea. Admittedly the Mary legend (which predates the DaVinci Code and Holy Blood Holy Grail by centuries) has no proof but, then again, neither does most of the bible.

While one can't prove it, the evidence is slightly in favor of Jesus being married. Logically, if he was to be truly human and was, indeed, in his 30's, then being married and having kids was a big part of being human at the time (and it still is). So logically, he should have wanted to get married. He obviously could have gotten married. According to custom he should have gotten married. Finally, if he was a rabbi (as he is referred to in places in the bible) then rabbinical law required him to have gotten married. As far as not mentioning it in the bible, one could argue that it was not significant because everybody of that age and circumstance was married. One could also argue that at the time the bible was written his wife, if she still lived, and his children would have been placed in danger if they were known.

Jesus was smarter than Caesar first of all, and Caesar was not worried enough about Jesus to go to all of that work, and that Jesus never sinned, and since he was not married, he could not have had Children.

And one more thing, do you think that if Jesus had left a blood line on earth, at least a few people would have claimed it?

Very weak heretics here at best.

Peace!

I would think that perhaps you got one of those 'other testaments of Jesus Christ' mixed up with the Bible. There is no such evidence. Critics have tried to find contradictions in the Bible for years, but none have yet been found (and i mean real contradictions in violation of the law of non-contradiction).

Many of the best Christian apologists today started out trying to disprove the Bible, but in the end they could do nothing but accept the facts. ... And so became Christians.

I would say you are influenced by the latest heretical fad. They are a dime a dozen. There is in proof in the Bible or Sacred Tradition. Heresies have been going on for thousands of years. This one is just another lie from Satan. Do not be deceived!

First of all please learn the english language. Your question, what would I think if jesus was married. He is a human being like you and me and has all the organs like us. Like us he also must have married and had children or would have had children without marriage also.

My question to you is why the hell are you bothered whether jesus is married or not. Does is change your life, does is improve your english? Nothing, just shut up and leave it at that

there is not any such project as homophobia. I would think that this is entirely derivitive from Holy Blood, Holy Grail, the Margaret Starbird books and The Da VInci Code.

Try having an original thought.

I would think that every other Bible scholar that has ever lived was pretty stupid for missing such a passage in the Bible. And if you could really prove it, you would have cited chapter and verse.
