It's Love for God. And God loves us too. But if we take the love for granted and do something that we musn't, wedevelop fear for God. People worship God not because they fear God but because they love God. If the sole reason for one's worship is fear, then there's a sense of guilt in it's heart and is asking for forgiveness in his prayers.

Love is nothing but the strength of a bond. And it develops mutually, if bot hthe parties contribute accordingly. God already made his contribution when he gifted you this life and this beautiful world. And your contributions should come out of your love towards God. A person who feels that he is not able to contribute would fear God.

And oh yes, when it comes to atheist, there's nothing... neither love, nor fear. It's plain ignorance.

All the best...

:-)

Everything is the love of God, all things are like this. But some get turned around by words and letters and lose themselves in the process of thinking.

Both. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And we should love God because God is love.

I love God and have a reverence fear of God.

Reverence-Feeling or attitude of deep respect, love and awe, as for something sacred

As a pagan, I do both-- I acknowledge them, and offer things to them when I need something, and appreciate them. But I also know that if I ask for too much, make promises that are too hard to keep, or if I act with malice, that I will get the thick end of a fat stick, so to speak.

There needs to be both. You need to have a respect and reverential fear of God. But you also need to have a deep love for Him too. Too many preachers I've seen act as though God is just some guy down the street. A lot of churches have no reverence for God. But we need to love God too. We must serve Him because we love Him. I side with balance.

Neither... I cannot fear or love something that doesn't exist. I don't fear or love Santa, the easter bunny or the great pumpkin either.

ETA: Wow this whole "fear as in respect" and "I have to fear him to love him" stuff is so very frightening. Were you all beaten as children?? That is exactly what children of abuse feel toward the parent who abuses them.

Hinduism is NOT fear of God....gee, lemmee guess what faith John is.....
As a former Catholic, I do remember sermons purposely driving fear into you.
As a current Hindu, there is none of that crap. Kali and Durga are fierce because they are driving evil away...it has nothing to do with worship from their devotees. They are very loving and protective.
You shouldn't speak when you clearly have no knowledge of the Hindu faith.

Both -

To FEAR God is not to cower in a corner and be "afraid" of Him. To FEAR God is to honor and revere His Holiness.

To LOVE God is to act upon those feelings of respect and reverence.
