I just found the most repulsive question from someone believing global warming was just a scam to raise money for the government. I want to know how other people react to the idea of global warming. What do you think about it? I myself think its 100% true and there is no way you can deny that change in the environment will surely come if humans keep releasing CO2 into the atmosphere.

Arguing about whether global warming is real, or is human-caused is kind of like standing on a train track and arguing about whether the train bearing down on you is being driven by someone or is just coasting in neutral. Either way: GET OFF THE TRACK.

can we really believe that increased industrial production is somehow good for the environment? Surely it is not helping to decrease the rate of global warming.

So, we have the situation as follows: Whether the warming trend is a natural one, or a man-made one, we still have the specter of it before us. So, we can do two basic things: mitigate the effects of the warming (from rising tides, stronger hurricanes) on our lives/economy and try to decelerate the rate of increase of temperature.

Examples of the first course of action: don’t build million-dollar homes right on the beach.

Examples of the second course of action: increase the CAFE standards for automobile fleets.

These things are just smart things to do anyway.

No question that global warming happens. But is it really caused by human generated CO2? The climate has been changing for billions of years and you can't blame all that on humans. It was warmer in the Middle Ages than it is now and nobody blames that on humans. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says that the earth would be warming even if there were no humans -- only not as fast. They also say that the earth will continue to warm even if nobody burns another drop of fuel.

The best data we have indicates that CO2 increases AFTER warming periods, not before. This suggests that increased CO2 is an effect of warming, not a cause.

Global warming theory and computer climate models predict that the upper atmosphere should warm faster than surface temps in a greenhouse warming. We observe just the opposite.

There's plenty of scientists that believe that global warming is primarily driven by variations in the sun's output.

If you think that all the scientists believe that humans are warming the planet please check this:

If you're critically doing a mission then seem on the technology now not folks's "ideas and feedback". The technology is relatively transparent, unequivocal and agreed upon for over two decades. Don't be distracted by way of the "there is not any proof" or "the scientists do not agree" arguments as each were demonstrated to be fake and simplest touted ago five or six years. Those who deny Global Warming or that humanity has an outcome on Global Warming haven't any clinical proof to maintain their positions so that they almost always revert to different systems. A traditional reaction shall be to assault someone who helps movement after which quote a novelist as being a systematic supply!! SEE ABOVE!

I'm sure people will try to make money off of global warming, regardless of whether it was a scam or not.

That's one thing you can always count on with people.

The fact is, there are probably more people (in industry) SAVING money by not having to take responsibility for the damage that their industries do to the environment.

Global Warming is a fact. There is a 100% consensus in the scientific community that Global Warming is occuring, and has been for some time. Anyone who claims otherwise is being paid to do so (most by the industry itself). You can't look at pictures of massive ancient glaciers that existed 20 years ago that have now completely melted and come to any other conclusion.

There is some question as to how much of the warming can be attributed to humans, and whether or not restrictions on the industries causing the pollution that leads to it would have any actual effect. This ends up being a moot point however, since regardless of what is happening, we have the ability to attempt to change it, or at least slow it down, all we lack is the desire.

The current administration and their supporters have actively worked for some time now to try to suppress the findings of the scientific community (on this and other topics). They have consistently marginalized and ridiculed anyone attempting to suggest that we do something about it, and will continue to deny the existance, and worsening of the global climate.

These people (mostly the right-wing types that like to listen to Rush Limbaugh, etc.) simply don't understand how science works, even in a general way--and so don't know a scientific question isn't decided by political debate. The question of whether global warming are caused by humans has been settled.

Whats funny about this is that the real discussion has moved on to policy--how to formulate and implement effective strategies to deal with the problems posed by climate change. And--by their own choice--the right wing is taking no part in that process. They are going to look around in a few years and find a lot of changes have been made they hadd no part in shaping--because they are spending their time beating a deadd horse. LMAO!

Global warming is real and yes while some natural resources do emit CO2, the biggest poluters are humans, with our cars and the industrialized world.

While I find "josie532" 's answer above a little ignorant and angry, I do see the point where changing humans is the hardest part to do.

Unfortunately, unless drastic mesures are taken to prevent the biggest poluters to contunue what they do, the human race is in for a big surprise.
All the scientific evidence can be ignored beacuse there is just too much profit to be made, but as you know, what goes around comes around and we will all pay for it.

That is right the rich don't want u using their jet fuel . They want to make all us walk while it doesn't apply to them. I lived in WW2 and the gasoline rationing worked well but it didn't do anything to the rich. So they want to make it cost us and not affect them. I think it stinks the democrats say to the elderly that they will take care of them . Yes make us walk when we are too old to. Look for an effort to make a tax out of it.

Of course it's real and mostly caused by us.

But there is a significant minority of skeptics. Some are driven by their "common sense", others by politics, others by economic reasons. They're not repulsive, they're human. The right way to oppose them is not to call them names, but to tell people the facts.

Very short version:

The best summary of the data available:

Scientists have seen much stranger things than global warming proved to be true by data. So the data, not "logical" arguments, is what they go by. The data is why why the vast majority of scientists agree that it's real and mostly caused by us. Data about that here:

You are confused.. very confused, no one can deny that the earths climate is changing and has been since the end of the ice age The biggest lie of all time is that humans are responsible for it and the biggest con is by governments raising our taxes claiming it is a cure for it
