I'm looking for your personal testimony of what brought you to Christ - was it a crisis, a person, a person's testomony, etc. ? I know it's a work of the Spirit through faith in the blood of Christ but what happened to you? How did He bring you into the family of God?

After I had an abortion. It's crazy because before and after that event I do not support abortion, though I felt that it was the only option for me. Shortly thereafter, I came across an article on http://www.christianwomentoday.com that talked about dealing with abortion, and that led me to going back to church, where I discovered that God was the missing link in my life. It's funny because I was on the internet "googling" something that had nothing to do with God or abortion, and the first two links on the results page were links to the above mentioned article. God works in mysterious ways.

I wanted to kill myself. I did a very desperate thing, I put myself on the paths of the 'Gods'.

Not much later I was getting a haircut from a Christian Barber who told me about Jesus. I decided to try it while I was alone in a room.

The Spirit of God came upon me and relieved me from a demonic prescence that I was aware of since I was about 8 years old. God's spirit chased it away twice that night. But before the second time I got to see heaven, though I could not see God there, I saw people or angels, I do not know which, going about their buisness. The Spirit of God was with me there. I could feel the love, and in that place there was rejoicing, I think it was praising of God for another person was saved. I think that they meant me.

After I realized that I was still in the room, I was given an urge to speak in tongues, but I didn't know what that was, but I was sure that my sister in law outside the door of the room would hear me speak what I thought would sound like gibberish, so I held back.

So I couldn't even deny God after that. It was the Sinner's prayer that I recited, though I was told to say it from the heart and in my own words.

Yes. I am still a Christian. A strange Christian but a Christian nonetheless.

Mine would take a book to tell it, which I may write one day. It is pretty unbelievable. But in a nutshell, I had been robbed and was in an abusive relationship, my business was going down the drain, no one cared, not my family..which now looking back I'm glad no one stepped in to help b/c I wouldn't have the relationship w/ God I have now....and I knew I needed help. Some very strange things started to happen to me as well..that I can't put here...I prayed..didn't know how to but tried and about a week later someone invited me to a Friday night "fire" service and I was the first one to the altar...and have never been the same. From there, everything started to go back up..but this time with the Holy Spirit indwelling me...

I was in second grade and sad to say it was because if I didn't the teacher said I would go to hell and frankly that will scare any kid into doing anything,

It wasn't until I was about 18 did I really start to realize what being saved was all about. I do not like to be categorized with other christians because of the bad rap they/we get from society and the media so I like to simply call myself a follower of Christ and like any other human being I fall off the horse but I have the faith and the hope to get back on and try again.

My story is the same as every Christian's. What brought me to Christ is the foreknowledge and predestination of God the Father, and I was brought into the family of God by the Holy Spirit, not anything at all that I've done. I "got saved" by grace, not anything I did for myself.

Nothing dramatic for me...I just started taking my daughters to church because it was "the right" thing to do....My first Sunday I just looked around that church at those people singing, hands up in the air, and I thought...these people are nuts........but I kept taking the kids. It took a few months, but my mind started to open up to Gods Word and I finally accepted Jesus as my Lord....I haven't turned back since...its been about 10 years now and I'm still growing in the Lord...

Noone is saved. That will only be deternined by Jesus Christ at the judgement.
It is a popular term today. I hear of people that are saved and then they go back to thjeir old ways and the preacher says, "Well, they really weren't saved". What an easy out.
