Salvation Army auctions off donated cars. I don't see why you can't bid on these cars. Most companies and people who bid on these know cars and car parts.

I donated an automobile in fairly good condition with the exception of a faulty wiring harness. The defect was recalled but I never got notified. When it finally went bad, Ford said the car was over 10 years and over 100,000 mile (by one month and 1,000 miles) so they would not honor the recall anymore. It would have cost me more than the value of the car to have the harness replaced. So I gave it to the SA. I am sure it was actioned off and sold for parts. Everything worked except when it rained, the battery would die. (For months I had to disconnect the battery after each trip and reconnected it before driving again).

So every chance I get, I tell people what trash Ford makes. It was always one problem after another, which I would dutifully repair and repair again. Until finally it was time to get a Japanese car.

If you have the money you can buy from whoever you want to. As long as they want to sell. I take it you are wanting to purchase a car that someone donated to the Salvaton Army?

Yes, many of the charity stores sell used cars that have been donated to them.
