I really need help trying to get my digestive system back to normal. I don't trust conventional doctors becuz all they want to do is fix problems with drugs. I really want to be able to 'heal' myself using natural alternatives such as healthy foods, exercise and if needed herbs and/or supplements only. No drugs. Don't get me wrong, conventional doctors have their place - they are good for saving lives.

Find a supermarket or ethnic store that sells Papayas. Papaya is one of the best remedies for stomach problems. It has an enzyme called papain that seems to work wonders. It will soothe your stomach and keep you regular. You could probably supplement it with papaya pills that can be found in most health food stores. You simply chew them like kiddie vitamins.

If it is your husband's gallbladder that is causing the problem, then removing it will completely solve the problem. I'm retired x-ray tech and cannot begin to tell you how many times I've x-rayed a gallbladder! Probably thousands. The radiologist can tell if the gallbladder is causing problems from those x-rays. So, if your doctor is telling you the surgery will fix things, you can just about guarantee that it will work. Your husband should be able to eat anything after his surgery (after he's recuperated). However, tell him a steak once in a while is okay but he needs to watch his cholesterol.

Try DanActive or Activia for 2 weeks, seriously that yogurt has changed our lives. I was practically living in the bathroom. Now I wouldn't dream of starting my day without it, it is THAT good. Find a flavor you like, buy 2 weeks worth and stick to it. You are going to feel so much better, and you won't need drugs I betcha. I'm the child of two doctors, and I'm a pharmacy tech so I know what drugs they want you to use. Try activia or danactive yogurt, sweetie. It's worth a try.

Also, there is AZO Yeast which is designed to keep you from getting yest infections while taking antibiotics. It's awesome at providing the "good" bacteria your intestines need even when you're NOT taking antibiotics. They sell it with the tampons and feminie stuff, so you might want to try taking one of those every day, too. They sell similar things at the health food store, but I always get mine at Target on the tampon aisle.

Lastly, I take Fiber Choice Sugar-Free Assorted Fruit Flavor chewables. They are the MOST fiber you can get in a supplement, they taste good, and are worth their weight in gold. You are going to feel so much better, just you wait.

So there's your shopping list, give yourself 2 weeks with the yogurt, AZO yeast supplement, and Fiber Choice chewables. Your tummy will thank you. Hope you feel better soon! Take care.

I so agree with you. I've had my gallbladder yanked and it didn't fix the issues. Beans and rice and veggies are my friends. And a smattering of cheese, but not too much. Pasta's pretty good on me too. Also I've been watching my sodium and fat more and practically not eating meat.

Good luck, having your gallbladder out sucks and messes up your body. I have severe heartburn and acid reflux because the bile doesn't have anywhere to go. I know what the "safe" foods are.

Trey eating plenty of foods with grain. Also drink plenty of water and exercise, such as walking. Activity helps the digestive system work like it should.
