If you don't have fresh milk, but you have whipping cream, or evaporated milk that works also. If you don't have either, either you will have to go to the store, or you can try this, I like to make mashed potatoes with the butter and sour cream they taste really good, it is like a stuffed baked potatoe! You can also add like bacon bit, green onion, and cheddar cheese!

Use 1/2 & 1/2 instead. Also, just butter and sourcream makes good mashed potatoes.

Try some butter and sour cream, it may be real good, you just never know. I have heard of mashed potato casserole made with sour cream instead.

You can make potato salad instead of mashed potatoes using the boiled potatoes. Or just eat boiled potatoes.

Heavy cream works quite well in place of milk. Also canned milk is what my grandma always used.

No big deal. Use a bit more butter and maybe water if needed.
Don't blame me, though, if it doesn't come out as good as milked potatoes.

I never use milk. Do you have cream cheese and butter? That's what goes in mine. Or do you have sour cream? That'll work for a substitute.
