The Americans take illegal immigration extremely seriously. Don't even think about trying it: you'll get into BIG trouble.

Contact the US Embassy in London for details of immigration possibilities. The US, like most first-world countries, is not generally keen on immigration unless you have some specific skills you can offer that they need. Having a university education or higher professional qualifications, for instance, would probably help your case.

The website is below - there's more info there, or you can give them a phone call.

Immigration to the US legally is apparently not too easy. I wholeheartedly hope you can come and follow whatever dreams you have. Here is a link to the US Immigration Service...... http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis In the meantime, maybe you could try coming on a student visa. Take some college classes, get a flavor of where you want to live and make some friends. http://www.unl.edu
You could just hop over but somehow I think the potential upcoming amnesty won't apply to all illegals. It's best to be here legally anyway if you want to stay permantly.

Good luck!! I hope it works for you.

Stay where you are - you have to have a job to get a green card and you can only stay if you have a green card - my mum and dad bought a house over there and were only allowed to live there for 6 months out of any 12months. They had freinds who did the same thing but they had to sell up after 12 months as the authorities were on to them , so they literally got chucked out - they had to come back to the UK but they had no house to stay in.
So stay where you are!!

You lost your mind mate?
I think its better t live here in the UK.
Anyways if you wanted to I can't stop you, can I?
The first thing they (immigrations) will ask you is
1) "why do you want to live in America"
2) How are you going to support yourself in America
3) do you have any contacts in America
I think you have to get a settlement visa with work permit.
Try visiting their website.
WARNING:
Each VISA is different so pick the best that suits your needs

Stay where you are. Don't think the grass is greener on the other side because it's not. This country is overrun by too many people from too many other countries. We used to encourage people to come here for a better life but since so many people have done that it's not a better life anymore. Take my word for it.
