I simply REFUSE to say the pledge to the Bible, or the Christian Flag!!
The only "symbol" that is needed is JESUS CHRIST, not a "bible or flag"...That takes away from our LORD, when you put symbols and pledge to them!
I have been going around and around with my preacher about this and many preachers in fact, but, satan is enscounced in many churches, and will not be removed becuase its "always been that way".
It didnt start until 1908 I believe on Coney Island, when some one gave a Flag to a Methodist Church, and they devised a "pledge" to it.
It plain disgusts me, that some "thing" is pledged to, and our LORD is only "remembered" on Sundays...BALONEY!!
As I say, I will not pledge to the bible or a Christian flag...Its a meaningless symbol.
And yes, I am a "saved" Christian.
I wish you well...
Jesse

Idolatry is worship something before or in place of God. If I read the pledge correctly, it is a promise to use the Bible as an aid or tool to lead to proper worship (obedience - not sin) of God. So that would not be idolatry.

That pledge though is man written and not within the pages of God's inspired word. Therefore it is not a commandment for people to live by, just some man's suggestion.

When I went to school, it seemed like a took an hour just to say our pledges. The American flag, the Christian flag, the Bible, and several choruses of "My Country Tis of Thee". Our pledges even had a whole musical arrangement, so we had to sing them, lol.

Bad (Law) pledge; For law is natural and spiritual abuse.
God's holy word: grace; not law, nor Mt 22:36-40 law law.
POINT: Grace is neither of two "law"s; Grace not abusive.
His Grace cannot lie (law) nor die (law). Law does both.
Grace neither tempts nor can be tempted. Law does both.
Law: "both good and evil" ends bad: "evil concupiscence".
Evil "concupiscence" makes good people feel "wretched".
More Excellent: neither broadmindead nor narrowmindead.
Broadmindead: the old and dead way: OT Law
Narrowmindead: the new and dead way: NT Law
More Excellent: new and living way: not Law Law.
Pst: only the "greatest" of "three" things "never faileth".
Charity never faileth: greatest of great->greater->greatest.
Charity is neither of the two law law loves in Mt 22: 36-40.
Albeit "the second" is "greater", but it still fails ("forsake"s).
The second "finished" in Jn 17 & 19 gives "place" to d-evil.
Read what James 1:15 says about "it is finished" in John 19.
Read what Hebrews 10:36 says about "receive the promise".
Do the will of God PRECEDES receive the promise. Selah.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

This is the only I recognize; " I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag, and to the Saviour, for whose kingdom it stands, One Saviour, crucified, risen and coming once more, With existence and liberty for all who think."

It doesn't matter what you and I believe about serving the flag or the country...The bottom line is are you obeying GOD in His word? God says not to serve or bow down to any carved image in the likeness of anything in heaven above or in the likeness of anything in the earth below...The U.S. flag is made of carved images of the stars in the likeness of heaven above and those who serve the carved images of the flag are worshipping idols...The mark of the beast on the right hand or on the forehead it stands for the heart and for the mind of those who worship the beast...When you pledge your allegiance to the carved images (stars) of the flag you place your right hand over your heart or over your forehead...If you obey GOD in His word you cannot serve two masters...

Sorry, my flag is the only thing I will pledge allegiance to.
Oh, and I say "...one nation, undivided, with liberty and justice for all"...not "under God".

What a terrible thing to impose on people. Religion really is an awful self-propagating parasite. It's really sad that it targets kids with its nonsense.
