why do people despise ginger heads so much. If its only a different hair colour why do they get treated like an entire different race and culture. i dont get it. Im not ginger by the way!

Many ginger headed people share similar characteristics. Presumably all ginger haired people are presumed to have these characteristics and are pre-judged accordingly.
Like race, it is not the colour of the skin that is disliked but the characteristics associated with a particular race.

for those of u who r unclear about what a ginger is it is a peoson with red hair but the colour is more orangy or brown....
as for people who hate on ginger people shame on u i think their hair is cool and unique. i love my grans hair its long and so healthy looking....
in fact i love the colour so much i dyed it yesterday to a gingery brown and it looks good....

Lmao Ginger nuts, that's ridiculous only ignorant people carry on like that and i for one don't listen and if anything point it out how ignorant they are in the first place, making them feel as small and petty as they are to begin with.
My husband has auburn hair and when he grows a beard or smiggy its real ginger . I love it, the fact his ancestors where vikings has allot to do with it and his mum has real red hair also, she looked like Maureen o hara when she was young, I also dye my hair raven red..so to all you petty minded idiots out their bite me..Gingers rule!

If someone is uncomfortable, they can make their hair a bit darker and it won't be gingerish, it will be a nice reddish brown or something. Bright orange doesn't look good on everyone, and with the loss of pigmentation, it is good to use a self tanner to put some color on the skin, and look healthier. If they're uncomfortable, otherwise, who cares what anyone else thinks?

It has to do with the old stereotype that redheads have horrible tempers and the old tale of the dark headed invaders raped the blonde villagers and the resulting children were born with red hair. Redheads were known as the bastards of Europe. Barbarossa(red beard) was a pirate. I think we need to get beyond the old tales. I love my Airedale and he has beautiful red hair!

Some people are jerks, and no matter who you are, some jerk out there is going to target you. In your case, you simply noticed it happening with a particular group (probably your friends), but if you look around, you'll see everybody getting that kind of treatment from someone. Look at how many blonde jokes there are. Every group of people is targeted by somebody.

I have red hair and I don't think that I get treated that different. When I was little, people would rub my hair for good luck, but that wasn't bad.
