He would hug me all night in bed without attempting to have s.e.x with me. He would still kiss me on the lips and tell me how beautiful I look.

He lied to you and you seem to have bought it.
Have you heard the saying: "you can get more flies with honey than vinegar"? Every guy past the age of 20 knows the best way to get a reluctant girl into bed is to tell her you don't want sex with her. Either you are really naive or...well you know.
Let's be clear: he doesn't love you, he doesn't respect you, he only wants cheap sex. Getting sex from an ex is like shooting fish in a barrel.

why is he laying in a bede with you? Sounds like he may want to get back with you, but is unsure. He's probably shopping around for a new girl but wants to keep you interested, just in case he doesn't have any luck finding a new woman. Watch out!! I'd start dating and i'd make sure he knows about every date i go on. That way, he'll get the message that i'm over him and i wouldn't look like a doormat desperate for his affections.

You might consider the possibility that your former husband is homosexual and while he may love you as a former wife and "friend", he is unable to consummate a sexual relationship with you, whether he did so earlier in your former marriage or not. If you like the man, continue having a friendly relationship with him and allow him the opportunity to be straight forward (no pun intended) concerning his sexual orientation.
