I have faith because I do-faith is something intangible-It is blind deal and so on. There is not always a reason but if I have to answer I would say I have faith because I get out of every jam honestly and every time I'm honest I'm blessed by little things-a kiss from a kid. a flower blooms-I'm a hopeless believer in the goodness of the world and every bad guy who has hurt me--well I don't win for nothing I got faith

For me, having faith is about choice. If you scrutinize any religious beliefs, there is no clear and indisputable evidence for any religious belief. That is why faith is so important. It is YOU’RE CHOICE! You’re choice to have faith in the goodness of people and the faith to trust and forgive.

If any religion you choose is arbitrary, in other words, it really does not matter, then it is your choice that matters. Having faith is not something that exists, either you have it or not. Rather it is something that becomes you, or more importantly shows through by how you choose to live.

To me asking why I have faith is like asking why I enjoy life, it is because I choose to enjoy life and I aspire to be a better person than I was yesterday and I cherish the opportunities to live my faith.

That's a really good question, and it has a definitive answer.

God brings it to certain people. They might not be the smartest people, as in my case, or the richest people, as in my case, nor the most trusting, as in my case.

Wow, I fit the bill, don't I?

In the Bible, it says this:
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

He brings it on. And then there is this:
Romans 10:17
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

That's why Christianity involves so much preaching. That verse is saying that there is a consequence by hearing. But the first verse that I brought here also told about God's influence upon people. That's why people can hear a Gospel message and reject it, God wasn't drawing them. and the measure of faith wasn't appointed to them by God.

Why?

Because God didn't want them.

And here is a text that explains that:
John 6:44
"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Those that are drawn into heaven by God are given that kind of faith that it takes to respond positively to the message of Christ.

You have faith when you believe deep down in your soul that god will do whatever is best in your life.It is also like a belief. When you believe in someone or something. It tells us in the bible when you have troubles to pray and trust in god and to thank him for his help as if he has already helped us before you even know it.That is faith, believing gods will, will be done. And the reason so many people want it is because they have not fully learned to have true faith. They still worry all the time instead of letting go and letting god.

Someone once said that ' faith is something that is hoped for but yet what is hoped for is unseen'.

This is something that is hardwired in our human nature. We sense the spiritual world but in the meantime we indulge in some religious experience to try to move closer to it. Religion -even in its most outlandish - is a cultural response to our budding sirituality - where the unseen lies. There is often a lot of confusion and difference of opinion, but many people have grown confortable with religion and spirituality.

Not me as I have no faith but I believe these may be some of the reasons:-
Fear of death, wishing for an after life.
Being too weak to take responsibility for ones own actions and need to be doing 'God's work'.
Wishing to be a part of the great confidence trick and speak with authority draw from God.

The Lord has instilled in us many wonderful gifts, love, hope and faith, to name a few, for those who choose to believe in Him! To have faith is to have hope! It has been said that a man could not survive if he didn't have hope and faith. I completely agree with this.........I have faith because I DO believe in the Lord and His Holy Word. He promises me that if I have faith as little as a Mustard Seed, I can move a mountain! Thank You Jesus! I have faith because I can!

Nobody can exist without faith. Even the atheist have faith in his mental conclusions, based in the non existing of God, without that faith they cannot challenge.
They are looking for secure. But they are afraid of been controlled by a supreme power, God, but that they don't know is that they are have been controlled by God through His energy, viz. the illusory material energy.

People want to know the unknown. Religion explains things we don't have clear answers for or for things beyond our scope of understanding. Religion is our attempt to explain the unknown or unacceptable. Like death being the end of our existence. Faith is a misled peace of mind regarding the unknown. It isn't tangible or even real, it is just peace of mind perpetuated by like minded followers.

I have faith in my wife. I don't know if people ever actually desire faith. It's not as if faith is in itself productive.

I've never wanted to believe something and found myself unable, although I have wanted to be able to ignore my doubts. I can understand that drive. But faith is not the ability to ignore doubts.
