(Besides Jesus) King Solomon was, if not, The wisest person to ever have lived. Yet he turned to idolatry!
I think it's not a matter of intelligence, knowledge or even knowing good from evil,
But the shrewdness of satan to be able to blind ones eyes enough yet lead them directly to what they lust after (Idolatry) and that lust is fed so without even realizing it all Logic and reason goes out the window.
I worship God!
1Peter 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.

Actually, idolatry is easy. People idolize Hollywood celebrities all the time. Others put money, sex, or power first in their lives. Some people sacrifice their disposable income on cars, boats, or private planes.
And most people sacrifice hours of their time each day to Television.

One thing about this some will say how could you worship God
because I am a Christian I know his words is true
but I was raise into this religion and other I know here in the States have also it alway been around us if we attend or not we know about our christian roots. But to say other are wrong and we are right that really isn't the point about our faith the point is to teach other not to be little them about their faith the only time Jesus was upset with a religion was his own because they was taking from the poor and almost wanted to be worship like God
But he was here to teach the ones that do not understand and want to be save

"Preacher" sorta hit it on the head.
Intelligence can be a hendrance - if you let it.
Some intelligent people think they have all the answers. In that way, they began to idolize their books or worship them in the sense that that's where they turn to for guidance. Their books and degrees lets them know that they need nothing more than that. Some tend to see God as an imaginary friend - that they are too smart for.
But only some intelligent people are like that. Not all of course.

People here voices all the time. They are called mentally ill, nowadays, but back in ancient times, it was said they were men of god.
Every person that is born of God, the Father, who is in heaven, is born with the Light, knowledge of God the Father.
But some are born in darkness, of the father who is in hell.
But all will recognize the Words of their father and will follow that voice which they can hear, To follow the One True God you must be born again, or you will never understand the Words.

I think that there are several reasons. But I think that the most important one for Christians to remember is the God Factor.
Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts,
Exodus 4:21
The LORD said to Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
Matthew 13:13
This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
Jesus is God. Any Christian should be capable of exacting that from the scriptures. God never changes. And Jesus was but another example of how God works. He rewards faith, and condemns doubt.
So God is the reason why many do not come to Him. The desire is simply not there because God does not want them. Those that He wants and have not committed to Him, we must earnestly be open to, so that God can use us to bring them into the kingdom.

In the true sense, the idols are not worshiped, but used as a medium to concentrate their prayers or thoughts on to the Supreme

Idols are inventions of man and do not signify God. In fact, nothing can signify God. He is one. He is ultimate. He is supreme. He has none like him.
All prophets (pbut) were sent by God to spread the message of unity of God and to warn the idolaters. But the followers of some of the prophets (e.g. Christians), made idols of the prophets, declared them god and started worshiping them.

Easy: Man is as a 'god' (Gen. 3:5-6. The person simply has to do nothing. The person can even have God in their life as even Satan and his followers believe in God (but tremble, James 2:19). Whether one worships God in their life may be a misleading concept to them presently.

I do worship God, but I don't believe in religion. I don't need to go to church to learn about God. I don't want to know more. I don't need to waste my time going somewhere I don't feel like being. I can worship God in my own way, in my own time.
