I bought the Crest White strips, and they worked really well. My teeth were alot whiter. I bought the ones that you wear for 30 minutes/twice a day, and they were only $28. I was completely satisfied. I think there is an advanced kit now, that is around $35, but you don't have to keep them on as long.

My wife has a tray system that is like the dentist office but much less expensive. You wear them each day and can get a couple of different strengths of the gel depending on how fast you want it to work and how bad the stains are. This is the kit - its about the same price as the Crest strips but you keep the trays and can buy just the gel later for touch ups. http://www.vitabase.com/supplements/teeth-whitening/prowhite.aspx They have other kits that are more expensive where you actually make trays just for your teeth.

I recently used the Crest Whitestrips that you use twice a day for 30 minutes at a time. They really worked! Even my dentist commented on how nice & white my teeth looked. They were about $20 at Walmart, so for that price it's worth a try.

My dentist recommended the Crest White Strips. I don't know if they are the best, but I thought they worked.
