The crucifixion take place outside of Jerusalem on a hill called Calvary. Also referred to as "Golgatha" or the "Place of the Skull" because the rock formation that capped the hill have a "skull-like" appearance at that time. The exact location of the crucifixion is not known. There is some debate over which of three major sites was the Bible "Calvary". Unfortunately, with Christianity being a banned religion, punishable by death, for several hundred years after the time of Christ, it was not possible to mark many of the original sites of events. Not like you could put up a plague on the spot or something. They had to go back three to four hundred years later to try to find the sites. So there is still debate about many of them.
The same place appears in the Old Testament under an earlier name, Mt. Moriah.

If you believe the New Testament and the prophecies (I happen to), then He was executed in a place called Golgotha (meaning place of the skull). In Latin it is known as Calvary. There was a really good show on the History Channel a couple of weeks ago that dealt with the location of this. More than likely it was on a rock quarry that is still in existence today.
It was outside the walls of Jerusalem.

Jesus was crucified outside Jerusalem:
As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross. They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull). (Matthew 27:32-33)
