2 airline seats, 2 bus tours and so on...., I really can't see the fairness in having to pay for 2 contiki or whatever tours just so I don't have someone sitting next to me. Am I eating 2 meals- NO!, Am I sleeping in 2 beds- No, Am I entering in a guided scenic tour twice- NO. What are your opinions?

I don't take 2 seats so quit with the insults. I'm talking about people who's shoulders may be a bit big. My ass fits fine in 1 seat. I was thinking of the well being of others though. Maybe I should just say screw it and let you get squashed.

Plus my friend is skinny and tall, she says plane seats are too small.

If I were in a situation were I require 2 seats on a tour I would gladly pay extra for an extra seat. Not a extra bed or meal or entry into a tour. This is the point I'm trying to make.

Not only are they making people pay for two seats but they are making the seats smaller. I only weigh 160lbs and I'm not that round I took a plane ride a month ago and I barely fit in the seat! I was pissed what a mean way to make more money! I felt so big after that flight and I can't imagine ever being told that I'm too big I need to buy two tickets to be able to go on that flight. I think they need to be a little more considerate.

Being obese has effect on the people around you as well. The larger the person the more unpleasant for the person sitting next to you. My personal experience was flying back from Chicago to London, an 8 hour flight. The person sat next to me couldn't even do her own seat belt up as she was so large. I lost an armrest and half my seat due to her size. Another concern was that she had to sit in the aisle, this was a safety hazard for me as I had no chance of getting out in an emergency, it took 20 minutes for her to move so I could go to the toilet.

airline companies also have a few problems with obese people. The heavier the person the more fuel used to carry them and the larger the person the less people they can get on the plane. As a result of people being larger today the airlines have expanded the size of the seats and increased leg room, I would have to agree that this is a benefit, but as a result the cost has gone up.

Yes, I absolutely think obese people should have to pay for 2 seats. Their excess weight tends to spill over onto the next seat, and in cramped quarters like an airplane or bus, that really makes it uncomfortable for whoever has to sit next to the obese person. I even think they should have to pay extra for movie seats, as that is another social setting in which their excess weight actually makes it uncomfortable for others who may have to sit by them in a packed theater. Also, obesity isn't the kind of illness or disability that can't be prevented, such as a physical or mental disability. In most cases, if these people just quit eating and started working out, they wouldn't be so large as to have to pay for a second seat. They bring it on themselves!

well this would depend in your other question you said you was so large that a normal size car seat belt would not fit around you............even tho you have removed the question you did post it.........so........yes I feel that obese people should pay for the two seats or nearly two that they are using [leastwise on planes] after all there was that court case of some really large person squishing someone during a long haul flight that resulted in nerve and spine damage to the person in the other seat.............IF that person was so large they should have been made to pay for the extra and as such would have been able to enjoy their flight / trip as everyone should be able to do so.

Regards

Don't really understand your question... but if you want to take up 2 seats you should pay for 2 seats.......
if everyone thought like you the airlines would loose a lot of money running half empty flights...

Hope I do not make anyone mad, really no offense meant but at my work I have to deal with clothing on a machine. A normal shirt cost $2 to do and they only take a minute. but when i get larger shirts omg what a mess. I have to do it on machine 3 or 4 times and then some hand work to touch it up. so in the case I feel they should pay double..The company however can not charge them double because it is a form of prejudice

i understand a guy, and regrettably he has to have 2 seats. he's properly obese. while he books his flights he tell them his length/weight so as that it would be pre-booked so you might no longer reason embarrassment at boarding or while seating. It occurred to him as quickly as on the airplane, had to alter to slightly of the airplane that had 2 seats available, and it grow to be charged to his mastercard, which he did no longer knwo could take place until he have been given his bill interior the mail. So in case you're incredibly enormous, anticipate this to take place. Is it suitable? I easily have blended thoughts on it. If somebody is on a very booked airplane then confident charge them, yet while there are various empty seats, no.

Airlines sell by the seat, not the person. If you occupy more than one seat, that's a seat they can not sell to someone else. I know non-obese people who buy more than one seat so that no one sits next to them.

Yes they should. It is unfair for anyone to sit next to a person who goes on to thier space. I am not small, But can sit in one seat with room to spare, that space is mine>
