"...the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one." 1 John 5:19
Paul said in his Roman letter:
"...do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2
To those that are not of God; these Words (because they are God's) cut like a knife to the very soul.
However, it is food FOR the soul to the children of God.

Tebone,
If so, you're in GOOD company:
Our Lord said, , 'My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here." John 18:36

The world hates the glorious Light of Jesus Christ. Isn't it evident?
"...the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." John 3:19-20

And you know what?
Satan has blinded ALL that don't see His Truth:
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness.... Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!" Isaiah 5:20-21
"He [Jesus] turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.'" Matthew 16:23

Behold the beautiful Words of our Lord:
"Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Now the ones that fell among thorns are those who, when they have heard, go out and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience." Luke 8:11-15

rlrose,
You're certainly welcome to think that.
But the POWERFUL Word of God says:
"... in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
"...all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned..." 2 Timothy 3:1-14

Heir to Christ,
OUTSTANDING! That's how good!
Overcoming. Tha'ts what it's ALL about.
"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. " John 15:18-21

moonlight,
you say, "

I can't agree with you enough. It's a sin and a shame what Godless people have done to this world.
But, we DOO look to our Redeemer. HE IS ABLE.
I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world." John 17:14-18

It's always good to be on God's side. With the wicked way of things, we need to be more alert to the devil's pawns. They will try to deceive us. God will be here in a few days to save us like he said in the Bible. Just remember "...With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." 2 Peters 3:8.
God has been there for me enough for me to realize that if you believe in him and keep an open relationship with him, he will help you. The devil doesn't help his followers or even care for them. Don't let these nonbelievers of God and his works get to you.

I find it difficult, as a child of God, to watch what evil is doing to our world - twisted and perverted. The areas of light are growing smaller, indead. However, I thank God everyday that he has sent me here to fulfill his will. I'm also thankful that there is still so much beauty in His creation.
I look forward to returning to His glory, but for now, I look forward to another day in God's great Earth. We may not be able to save it in the end, but we can do our part to keep it clean.
May the days of the wicked one be shortened. God bless.

Yes. You might also like these.:
inspired) by the spirit of the father of truth, the great apostle - referring to the "authorities of the darkness" - told us that "our contest is not against flesh and blood; rather, the authorities of the universe and the spirits of wickedness."....- From "The Hypostasis of the Archons (The Reality of the Rulers)" found at http://www.gnosis.org/naghamm/hypostas.html
From "The Gospel of Thomas" found at http://www.gnosis.org/naghamm/gosthom.html
These are the secret sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded.
2. Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]"
When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."
5. Jesus said, "Know what is in front of your face, and what is hidden from you will be disclosed to you.
For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. [And there is nothing buried that will not be raised.]"

Yes. Amen. Let us go on unto perfection.
Hebrews 6:1 - Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this will we do, if God permit.

God is the superman of all in the cosmos, because He is the creator of everything. He is the cause of all causes.
Though God created this material world,He some times comes to this materila world,He is not affected with all these material stuff. He is aloof from all those. But He looks like He is the part of this material world.(God Himself says these words in the scripture). So even this material world belongs to God,so we should respect it.In this mood even this materila worl becomes spiritual.

No. I prefer reality, thanks. I AM of this world. I'm a human being, created by biology and born of a human being right here on good ole earth.
The world lies under sway of the wicked one, all right... that being the Christian god who coerces his followers to be horrible to everyone who does't believe.
The words that cut like a knife to my soul are the hateful words spewed at me by god's followers... the words in his book are nothing but that... printed words.

The world is real, but gods are imaginary. It is folly to prefer fantasy to reality. The Bible has many contradictions and knows nothing about science, so quoting it to a scientist-logician, such as me, is a waste of time and effort.
