Water Baptism means water immersion.

You most definitely get wet but there is a difference.

As best as I can explain it to you, only this kind of immersion is one which is one that testifies to the world that you are now a follower of Jesus. You are saying specifically that have rejected your old sinful lifestyle, having died to your old nature and have received a new nature from God when you were saved. The water has nothing to do with you being saved where you received the new nature. It only tells the world to whose allegiance you are.

It is an outward declaration of the inward work God has done to you.

Water Baptism saves,

NO

human.

By Grace you are saved through faith and only this way.

Different denominations baptize differently. A few immerse a person in a river or pool, but most just sprinkle some water on their forehead.

I've been baptized twice, once as a Protestant and once as a Catholic. The water dried up in both cases. Now I'm a witch.

The simplest answer to this question is to understand the meaning of the word "baptize." It comes from a Greek word which means to "submerge in water." Therefore, baptism by sprinkling and baptism by pouring are oxymorons, they are self-contradictory. Baptism by sprinkling would mean "submerging someone in water by sprinkling water on them." Baptism, by its inherent definition, must be an act of immersion in water.

When I lived in Los Angeles, I was outside walking my dog when all of a sudden - water fell from the sky!!! It was terrible! I got wet. My dog got wet. What the...???

So, am I baptized now? My dog died a couple years later (old age). Is he in heaven because he was baptized?
