I was certainly not happier as a christian than I am now, as a theistic agnostic. I think ridding myself of inappropriate dogma is one of the things that made the difference, which is why I get so irritated with it when I hear it now.
It's been a while since I read much of the bible but I don't remember it saying anywhere that christians would be happy. I recall mentions of acts of worship where people had joy in the lord, but no mention of general happiness outside of this.

The short answer is NO!
Sadly though, it seems that what most people “treasure” in this life are material, “eat, drink and be merry”, “sex drugs and rock & roll”, possessions and money.
In bygone days that attitude was the purview of the young and immature. As they gained age, maturity and wisdom they came to understand that there were other things of greater importance: matters of the home, family and things spiritual. In other words they “grew up.” That has not been the case with the last few generations, X, Y and whatever the current one is labeled. It seems their maturing process stopped at around age 13… not all of course but many if not most.

No, I don't believe you are miserable because when I was in the world... I was having me a good time. Somebody, come on. My life is typically better since Jesus came into my life an since I recieved his Holy Spirit. I don't, however, feel that you will be very happy in the afterlife. If you ever been to church or near a BIBLE, you know what I'm talking about. God has given unto everyone a measure of mercy and grace, use yours wisely.

No, Don't. People have a right to live anyway they want, it's their choice to live that way, and if they like it good! If they don't than they can seek help for it from a person or friend who might be Christian or not. I think some Christians have a hugely different outlook on life-than non believers. Athiest in general. WE see good through the bad, they always ask why do bad things happen to good people and things like that. Out of all my friends who are athiest they have all asked me that question. and I do notice a huge difference in our outlooks on life.

Oh, absolutely!
No, I'm kidding. Not all of us believe that. However, my observations (and my own experiences)(I haven't ALWAYS been a Christian, I've actually only been a Christian for less than five months!)) have led me to the conclusion that sometimes non-Christians aren't as happy as they think they are. I'm speaking from experience. I thought I knew happiness and contentment (while I was atheist, then agnostic, then Wiccan, then agnostic again). It is NOTHING compared to what I have now.
In comparison, my life before I let Christ be my Lord and Savior was completely miserable.
But that's just me. Everyone is different.

The evangelical christians clearly think that way. I think many non christians have a great life. But I think it would even be greater for them if they understood the peace that comes from realizing that all sin has been paid for through Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross. The only thing we have to do is believe God concerning it. Peace of mind can improve anyone's quality of life no matter how good they have it.

No, I don't think that way.
Before I became a Christian, I was happy, but felt something was missing. I worried alot more about money, and I dreaded getting older, which mean't closer to death. I saw death as a big brick wall -- a dead end. I thought "Is that all there is to life?"
That "something" that was missing was hope. Now that I have a relationship with God, I have a peace within that I never had before.
So those who don't have that peace that comes from God, strive their entire lives trying to be "happy". "Happy" is temporal, and cannot be depended upon, high and low, for your emotions control happiness.
The peace that comes from a relationship with our Lord is constant, dependable and is controlled by the Holy Spirit within.

No, most Christians I've met don't believe that.
Maybe some of the younger Christians do 10-16 years olds.
I do know that they are missing out on added joy though. They aren't as happy as they think they are.

Not at all,
therre are christians living miserable life, but will go to heaven,
millions of others live a lavish, happy, luxury life and millions live poor and miserable life, but what matters is Christ in your life or not. If Christ is your saviour then no matter the present situation of your life you will end up in heaven

I think the Christians who are bible thumpers think this way...but not all. There are some who believe that those of us without believe will be ok as long as we live a good life...kinda like they tell them to in the bible.
