Truly a sad case....especially since everyone AGAIN wanted to turn it into a race issue.
They have every right to sue, especially against the over zealous prosecutor who was running for office and was trying to grandstand!

Unfortunately, the only way to protect people from being sexually abused is to start prosecuting procedures as soon as an accusation is made. If it had gone the other way and the woman had made the claims and the police and prosecute did nothing right away and then the boys committed the act again, there would be just as much outrage but everyone would be asking why the prosecute did not act faster.
I don't know if there was a better way to handle this case given the fact that the girl lied from the start. I am glad that the charges have been dropped and that the boys are free from this, if you can call it that, I mean they will never get back to the way things were before this girl lied. I hope that they sue her but I am not so sure that the prosecutor did anything terribly wrong. I mean they had an accusation and they had to move fast in order to keep it from happening again, if it was true.

While these young men may be innocent of this particular case, given the fact they are a group of spoiled rich kids, i'm sure there have been other instances where they were borderline criminals.
Also, I think the biatch that filed the complaint should go to prison for about 15 years without parole maybe she'd learn a lesson or two. I'd definately support locking the prosecutor up in prison indefinately, there are way to many of those type of prosecutors in the criminal justice system who build a career on wrongful prosecutions.

The La Cross Team is ruined. The athletes are damaged for life. The lawyer will end up loosing his license. And the ***** who caused all the problem will get away free as a bird. They should allow the duke boys to stone her and let the prosecuter witness.
It is one example of correcting the knee jerk reaction for a sensationalized case of the pendulum swinging too far for the protection of a select group of troublemaking citizens.

I agree, justice. This whole thing started over somebody trying to get something for nothing. Meaning the woman that first accussed the men, then an over aggressive prosecutor what thought he could also benefit from this, which he did.
Until now.
Just stupid greed, caused the whole mess. And yes, I also think that they should sue, as their names and photos have been plasteded all over the news for a couple of years.
I also think that a picture of the woman that accussed the men, as well as her name should be broadcast around the world.

I agree with you. That is truly a miscarriage of justice. I hope the DA gets disbarred and I hope the law suit gets deep in the the Duke pockets. A guy I really feel sorry for is the lacrosse coach. This thing has ruined both his career and his reputation. I hope he gets as big a settlement as anyone.

I think that too many people sue too indiscriminately. That being said I hope the Duke players take their case to court and end up owning that town. It became obvious early on that the plaintiff was lying. Yet the case was continued due to political grandstanding by the D.A..

Yes they should sue and their accuser should be charged with every and any law that can be thrown at her. She has done a huge disservice to true victims of rape and she needs to apologize publicly for that. Right now, Imus is a boy scout compared to her. She could have sent innocent men to prison and ruined their lives and she couldn't have cared less.

I would hope that these young men do something to recoup their honor and good names. The District Attorney, Nifong, has a lot of explaining to do. I seriously doubt that he's going to be honest because he botched this situation. He pandered to one group and destroyed any integrity he may have had.

Yes....and plenty of valued lessons were put out for us to learn by. One: don't hire drug addicted strippers to do ANY party entertainment. If you do, better have plenty of batteries and tape for the video camera.
Two: DNA, baby!!! DOES NOT ASSUME. Careful accusing someone of rape. I think that accusing stripper should now see either some jail or Civil Court time---perferably BOTH.
Oh....and I think the "reverend" Al Sharpton and company ALL need to be hauled in, arrested and BOOKED cold in jail, too!!!! Bail set for each at $500 million--let's see ol' wily Al buy his way out of THAT one, eh?????
