Neither one. JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, and Alpine make the best subs...in that order. DO NOT BUY SONY. They're OK for the money, but they're garbage to listen to. Pioneer makes better woofers, just don't power them with Pioneer amps. Pioneer is junk for power. Sony only has a name because of it's previous (lame) production of home entertainment equipment. Do yourself a favor and avoid both brands. I don't mean to be rude, I'm just answering your question. Between the two, Pioneer Premier. But get a Rockford amp.

Well neither are really considered "high end" but out of the 2 I would say pioneer.
Pioneer has been around a long time and personally I have had to deal with the warranty department and it was pretty smooth for such a large company.... I was pretty impressed. When it comes to pioneer I will say this.... I still have a pioneer home stereo in my shop that was made in 1986 and it still bangs!
Sony on the other hand isn't so easy to deal with... The subs are not very good at all I would really stray away from them for car audio

I like my sony, but they are older. I have to speak in ignorance on pioneer. I must say that they look cheap. Pioneer premier I know sound good for a decent price. Look at rockford subs. They aren't that expensive but they sound really good.

in answer to your question i would say pioneers top end subs, but if you like deep low end bass mtx have some belters out at the minute. just fitted 3 12" subs last week in a friends car, gonna have to do some serious sound insulation as they shake the car like its gonna explode

between the 2 Pioneer are better, but I would generally say that its up to you. ive ran 2 x12 inch ported alpine subs in my clio.
check the Market it depends on what sort of bass you want. that sounds cliché, but i cant tell you what sounds good in your car, only you can :-)

Pioneer by far. but you might want to step it up a little to Pioneer Premier. much better subs then both Pioneer and sony.
