Jesus demonstrated his love toward us by taking God's wrath upon himself so that we might be saved. Would you be willing to do the same thing? Would you be willing to give up your eternal salvation and endure hell for all eternity if it meant that somone you loved, perhaps an unsaved family member, would be saved? Would you be willing to do it for a stranger? What about the worst of sinners?

First, I agree with the majority of you that this is not something that is possible. However, that misses the point. I didn't ask whether or not it was theologically possible, I asked whether you would be willing to do it if it was possible.
Second, while Jesus did not go to hell, he did suffer eternal hell for us while he was on the cross. This is why our penalty of hell can be cancelled. If the penalty for our sins was merely physical death, then we would all pay our own penalty upon our physical death. The truth is that Jesus took God's eternal wrath upon himself when he was on the cross.

Paul indicated in Romans 9:3 that he would be willing to do this for the non-believing Jewish people.
Interesting hypothetical question .... to me, hell is so terrifying that I would be very reluctant to do that, even for my wife, children, relatives.
Obviously, such a 'trade' isn't how it works. God presides over Judgment Day. Each person is accountable for their life.
I am willing to endure persecution for trying to share the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ (although I've only received minor persecution).

There isn't any point, as you can't save someone else through being damned. Jesus was the only one pure enough to be a sacrificial lamb.
I may be a Christian, however I am far from perfect, I still sin (my humanity & fallen nature), and so as an imperfect being I'm not acceptable as a sacrifice.
The best way to help others to salvation is by showing them the Gospel: not preaching at them, not telling them they're wrong or going to hell; but by showing them in your life through faith and deeds.

Jesus gave willing His life and died on the cross for each of us, so that we would have eternal life...Jesus was not dammed to hell He is in heaven sitting at the right hand of the Lord, very much alive and well..As for me I wouldn't be giving up my salvation, (I already have eternal life, I am signed sealed and waiting to be delievered) for another to be saved, instead we would as well as heaven would be rejoicing that another has excepted eternal life..Blessings

I'd give my life, sure, but no way on the soul. Everyone has a choice, even those I love, and they've got to chose their own path. I can point out what I believe and why, or tell how Jesus has impacted my life, but ultimatly, in this world, ya gotta hang onto the free gift. Interesting premise though. Guess that makes me.... human?

Jesus did not give up His "eternal salvation" or "endure hell for all eternity".
I would not give up my salvation. I'm Born Again and my salvation is already secure. Salvation doesn't work the way your question is worded.

First of all Jesus came to the world so that we threw him might be saved that means that the only thing we can do for a sinner is to tell them about God's amazing Love. but If I was given that choice I Probably wood for any one. but go to church it will answer your questions.

First of all, you would have to turn yourself away from God and choose an evil way of life over God, to loose salvation and be damned, secondly, no one can be saved by laying down their own salvation for someone else. And third, it is God who saves, not people. Jesus Christ already gave His own life for the whole world, so that you and whosoever will believe, can receive salvation and not be "damned".

To give up salvation and be damned one would have to sin, and Christ was sinless. His suffering for us was without sin. I would not be willing to be damned to hell because that would be loss of God for eternity and to do it I would have to sin mortally.
Catholics are often urged to offer the sufferings of this life, it could be sickness, some discomfort, any worry or problem for the salvation of worst of sinners. 'Offer it up' it is said. So there is a slight semblance there to your question.
Our Lady of Fatima, the Mother of God, when She came with a message from God in 1917 said " Pray, pray very much. Make sacrifices for sinners. Many souls go to hell, because no one is willing to help them with sacrifice."
" Make sacrifices for sinners and say often, especially while making a sacrifice, ' O Jesus, this is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.'
Catholic saints, if you go through their life stories, have always suffered the worst of trials and sicknesses and offered them up for the salvation of the worst sinners, strangers to them.

The truth is that we are humans...so truthfully speaking, most of us wouldn't be in that position of being the "Savior' of mankind. We weren't chosen for this special calling...because we're human beings...that's the difference between Christ, who was also God's Spiritual son, a very special being, having totally unselfish qualities, total regard and love for all mankind, and His knowing the pain and outcome of this necessary task, died for all of us.
Most human beings probably don't have those special qualifications to die for the World.

there is no eternal torment
hell is the grave
and yes I am a mother...I would give my life to save my children or grand children.
But God is the reader of hearts. He would resurrect me if I unselfishly saved another and lost my life.
Jesus gave us a new command that we love one another. He said by this love everyone will know that you are my disciples.
But no where in the bible does it say that we would give up eternal life. In fact it does say "He that finds his soul will lose it and he that loses his soul for my sake will find it."
