The personal name of the only true God is Jehovah. His own self-designation.Jehovah is the Creator and, rightfully, the Sovereign Ruler of the universe."Jehovah" is translated from the Hebrew Tetragrammaton which means "He Causes to Become".Those four Hebrew letters are represented in many languages by the letters JHVH or YHWH.
No human today can be certain how it was originally pronounced in Hebrew.Because biblical Hebrew was originally written with only consonants,no vowels. When the language was in everday use, readers easily provided the proper vowels. In time, however, the Jews came to have the superstitious idea that it was wrong to say God's personal name out loud,so they used substitute expressions. And subsequently the original pronunciation of the divine name was lost.
Many scholars favor the spelling "Yahweh,"but it is uncertain and there is not agreement among them.On the other hand,"Jehovah" is the form of the name that is most readily recognized, because it has been used in English for centuries and preserves, equally with other forms, the four consonants of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton.
It must be added that many have been misled by Christendom to believe that Jesus Christ is God.This is not a Bible teaching.Jesus is the Son of God,and not God the Son.
Others believe that God's name is "God" or "Lord" or other such titles.A title is not a name.Madam is a title but it is not a name,is it?

The word "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for Almighty God, and is the same word used by Arabic speaking Christians and Jews. If one were to pick up an Arabic translation of the Bible, one would see the word "Allah" being use where the word "God" is used in English. Actually, the Arabic word for Almighty God, "Allah", is quite similiar to the word for God in other Semitic languages — for example, the Hebrew word for God is "Elah". For various reasons, some non-Muslims mistakenly believe that Muslims worship a different God than Jews and Christians. This is certainly not the case, since the Pure Monotheism of Islam calls all people to the worship of the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and all of the other prophets. However, even though Jews, Christians and Muslims worship the same God — since there is only one God — their concepts concerning Him differ in some significant ways.

Simple English Answer: Yahweh or Jehovah
Longer Answer: "He Causes to Become". It stems from the imperfect {participle?} of the Hebrew verb 'hawah', which means "to become".(Hence the relevance of I Am/I Shall Prove to Be). YHWH or JHVH. Ancient Hebrew was written w/o vowels, but when texts were read people knew what to substitute (BLDG=Building, get it?). A superstitious rendition of the command not to take his name in vain caused people to stop saying the name altogether and eventually the EXACT pronunciation was lost. Yahweh/Jehovah is the closest we have to that. Of course that might be easier to know if certain translators wouldn't have removed the divine name from their Bibles in order to lend credibility to the Trinity doctrine, but let's not point fingers.

The bible never gives God the Father a name. However he is known by many names the most well known of these being “Yahweh”
In hebrew YHWH is the third person singular imperfect of the verb "to be", meaning, therefore, "He is".
The name YHWH is often reconstructed as Yahweh
Exodus 3:14 (King James Version) tells us this:
14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
I hope this answers your question

Jesus and I Am. No I'm serious. I Am is the name to God in the Old Testament. At the burning bush God said "I am I Am." It sounds like the brand of dog food but it's real. Dog spelled backwards is God and God's name is like dog food. Maybe there's a connection. Hmm... BTW He is also called Jehovah.

Where does it say that?
The issue is that in the OT- the Jews wanted to know God's name. Moses wanted to know God's name. When Moses asked God answered, "I will be who I will be." His answer was purposefully vague b/c during that time the people would want to know a god's name as a way of manipulating them to do the things they wanted to do. God would not be manipulated and stated clearly that he was God and that is who he was. He would not allow Moses, or anyone to manipulate him. In that way- God is God and he will not be manipulated by us either. He is clearly "not us" and his answer to Moses reminds us that he clearly establishes himself as "not us".
There are many names in the bible of characteristics of god- el shaddai, etc. but these are characteristics.

God had a lot of names in the bible, and the reason why is because that is what they called him; you have: Jesus, Son of GOD, Messiah, Jehovah, Alpha and Omega. and when you set down and just breakdown what all those names mean they mean the same thing Jesus. I hope that was helpful
