I always loved the school holidays too. They were hard work but also good fun and I always felt good if we had had a nice day out, but also was glad when they were over and the kids were back at school and the routine was back in place.

We had leftovers after having a BBQ yesterday. Lots of salad and stuff, needless to say the adults ate most of the salad, I think the grandchildren managed a bit of cucumber and bread and cheese

I've been out the park all day with my toddler, who's now fast asleep, bless him!. What a lovely day!

We had a picnic of cheese sandwiches, dairylea strings, scotch eggs and apples washed down with banana milk and ofcourse followed by ICE-CREAM!... which mum ate most of... as he (the little one) doesn't keep still long enough for it not to melt! oh he did munch alot of the bread that is ment for the ducks too but hey don't we all do that.

All this why poor daddy's hard at work. I don't know though although a mothers work is fun and rewarding, I'm beat too!!

My husband is also off work so we went for a chinese buffet, which was lovely, normally we just have sandwiches and fruit or homemade soup. Tonight for dinner we are havinf stew, mashed potatoes and turnip, if we are not to stuffed that is.

I love the holidays aswell, i have a 6 and 3 year old, and its great not having to rush around the whole day, roll on the summer holidays when the weather is even better.

I LOVE the school holidays... no arguments in the morning, no getting dressed until 11am... We've had the Spongebob Showdown on Nickelodeon on all day while nipping in and out of the garden.

We had ham sandwiches, cold sausages, cheese, chopped apple, cucumber and mini Cheddars (a juvenile Ploughman's!) followed by yet more Easter eggs....

I use the Annabel Karmel cook book as inspiration, it has meal planners etc which are great to follow. She also has a web site that has recipes and a forum which has suggestions. Today my 25wk old son is having Sweet Vegetable Medley (Carrot, Sweet Potato, Swede & Parsnip)

we had pizza and salad! my three are 7,6 and 4 and whilst the 7 year old lives with me the younger 2 recently moved up to manchester with their dad, so i absolutely love the school holidays now!
it means my kids can spend spend time together and i get to put the other 2 to bed for a week!
its taught me not to take them for granted, and also how quickly they change, which i dont think you notice so much if you have them all the time!
most important lesson learnt this holiday though is "never buy a four year old girl anything without checking with her first"
she informed me that she is too old for her dora bed covers and she now prefers "beautiful dresses" not pink combats!!!!
she still has the hump ith me now!!!!!

We ended up in the Ikea cafe and had fish and chips but left the peas, followed by huge ice creams. Am I the only sad person who takes my kids to Ikea just so they can jump all over somebody elses sofas and beds?!
