Bush refuses to say what his plans for Iraq are, which is a sign that there is no plans. Recently some generals were asked then turned down the job of war czar for Iraq and Afganistan (which in this case is the same job the top Centcom general is suppose to be doing) and they said the same thing.
So far the only real answer is to stabilze Iraq enough to when the Iraqi soldier and police can be effective. The Iraqi president gave the date June 2007 to when that would happen.

The aim in Iraq is not to loose the war against these radical muslims.....
Becuase it is clear what thier objective is.... to kill all infidels....focusing on USA.... but that´s not it... they just want to kill everyone who does not believe in thier radical translation of the quran....
People here think we can just leave iraq and go back to our daily business.... well no... .the terrorists won´t stop until we are all dead.... that´s what they want... that´s thier objective.... and anyone who gets in their way will also suffer the same fate.... why do you think there are so many normal iraqis dying everyday.....
they want to kill everyone and rule the world.... america needs to wake up and unite to realize what a threat this is.... we pull out of iraq and then watch as country by country falls to terrorism.... they already have spain.... they said to take the troops out... they refused... they bombed the train station... and then spain pulled its troops out..... anything else that the terrosts want spain to do they will simply make threats and they will follow....
we have to make sure the world doesn´t become like this.... doing what these crazy muslims want or else suffer the suicide bombs.......
they wont stop until we are all dead and we should adopt the same menatlity.

Americans have no need to be in Iraq, or anywhere in the middle east. This is a blood war and an oil war. Our president is a moron. I think we should send HIM to Iraq and let him fend for himself.
Moron.
We need to bring our troops home. One death was too many.

I am still trying to figure this out. I don't think there is a consensus. It was kind of imposed on us.
