First and foremost, drink lots and lots of water daily, irrespective of season. Eat 2 or 3 bananas in the night just before going to bed. Although this doesn't offer a permanent solution to your problem, it sure can help to some extent. In any case visit a general physician.

Drink atleast 5 litres of lukewarm water in a day for a month and see the difference. Out of this quantity, if you can take 2 litres of water in the morning in empty stomach, you will see wondrous results. After drinking the same, you will rush to the toilet on the first day or atleast from the fifth day onwards. But the condition is that you should stop smoking if you are a smoker.

You must take at least 1 litre or more of lukewarm water in the morning as soon as you get up from sleep and before going to toilet and you will find the problem gone.
Also if possible exercise regularly and take more fibrous food in the day

* Drink upto 5 litre of water daily.
* Even if you don't feel like, just sit in the toilet at a regular time in the morning (say around 7 o'clock)
* Drink a litre of water in the morning (practice it rather slowly, like first day drink a glass and increase it day after day)
* Do some little exercise, like walking, skipping, jogging, and so on.

You have to eat and you must include fibre and lots of water in your diet. Also exercise will get it going (walking 1 hour each day). Try having a cup of hot water (without teabag) first thing in morning, its really not bad. Eat wholegrain bread, 2 fruit and at least 5 different veges each day. If worst comes to worst, use glycerine suppositories.

See your doctor if the frequency of your bowel movements has changed recently.
The range of 'normal' bowel movements is anything from 3 times a day to 3 times a week - so not going every day is not the end of the world - check with your doctor to make sure.

In addition to the fiber this situation needs to be evaluated by a dr to make sure nothing serious could be going on.
