Chuck also invented his own martial art. I doubt you know this, but they used to train together. In other words they were colleagues and friends.

If you're talking about fighting in the movies, then Bruce did beat Chuck Norris:-) In the movie "Way of the Dragon", they squared off with the coliseum in Rome as their background and Bruce killed Chuck off with a guillotine choke. But in real life, we'll never really know, though Bruce had the advantage(and i'm a Bruce Lee fan), Chuck's no lame duck either, he was a Karate Tournament Champion during the sixties and he served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Korean War,which was how he came to start to train in Korean Hapkido. In a real fight anything is possible, Bruce knew this most of all, which was why he tried hard to skew the odds to his favor by developing the principles of JKD to help him be stronger, faster and more effective in combat. And as for the comment about Bruce having his own martial arts and Chuck not having any, that's totally irrelevant. I know a guy who claims to have studied over 10 different martial arts and started his own style only to get his butt kicked by a street bully.

Bruce Lee was Chuck Norris' trainer for at least some of the contact fights he did... In fact Chuck got annoyed that people credited Bruce with the win of the title so chuck trained someone to win and said that proved that he didn't need Bruce, so Bruce trained someone that took out that someone... It's all pretty irrellevant...
Bruce Lee fought in full contact illegal street fights in Hong Kong (the roof top fights)....
Bruce Lee was not the best fighter in the world...
Chuck Norris is not the best fighter in the world...
JKD is not a new style, it is Bruce's understanding of Wing Chun and a bloody good understanding at that.

CHuck has his own way also. The Chuck Norris System. I think bruce would take him, cause he was all around fighter. He fought a lot and had experience in taking on force.
Just my opinion.

If Bruce Lee was still alive, he would be getting old too. just like Chuck Norris, by the way, Chuck throws a spinning, back, side, hook and crescent kick, and he wears boots too, more like a spinning boot to the face.

Chuck Norris was a middleweight full-contact martial arts champion of the world. Bruce Lee refused to compete in such bouts. He preferred to be in movies in which the script said he would win for certain. He was stubborn about losing even when he was beginning in movies. I would fire such a person who refused to lose if my script told him to do it. It remains to be seen how bruce would have done in full-contact, but we know for certain how well Chuck did. It seems that Bruce was a coward with too big an ego. Such a man could not beat a real champion such as Chuck.

Chuck fought tournaments, Bruce fought duels.
I'd put money on Chuck Norris because mostly because he once kicked a burger king so hard it sold him a Big Mac.

Bruce Lee actually staged his own death, and he is now in hiding so the he will never have to fight Chuck Norris. He lives next door to Elvis on one side, and Jim Morrison on the other. Neither one of them wanted to fight Chuck either.
