I can only speak one...excluding english.
Yep, I could have a conversation, but not really a good one. Yes, it helps me when I go to South Africa.

I only speak english but in todays world, it would be useful to be able to at least understand or be understood in the more basic languages such as spanish, german, italian and french. If your visiting a foreign country I think its your DUTY to learn enough to get by. They should not have to learn your language. Just like the people immigrating here should make efforts to learn rudimentary english. I should not HAVE to learn their language to communicate in my own country

Well, the language I'm most fluent in is French. But I can speak a little Spanish, German, Japanese, Chinese and Italian. So that's six languages I suppose.

I speak five languages: English, Chinese Mandarin, French, Indonesian and Malay. Are they useful? A resounding yes!
I use them to communicate while abroad and I travel quite a lot around Asia, so knowing three asian languages helps a lot.

I speak four: Spanish, English, French and a little bit of Russian. And, of course, after a few drinks, I make my own language :-)
