to be truthful i dont think theirs anything they can do about it if you have a good enough reason.its happened to me,my mum as my children and the courts said i was to have them on a certain day but she wouldnt let me and she didnt have a good enough reason and nothing was said or done about it so i suggest you dont even worry about it

Peggy hit it on the nail. Kids need both their parents regardless of child support. But unless the non custodian parent is abusing the child or there was an emergency I'd guess you'd get contempt of court. Unless you're in Ohio. Custodial parents are the only ones with rights there.
Unless the non custodian parent is going to their lawyer over it I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise you'll need a lawyer too.

I don't understand how there can be a "no contact order" in place with the parent that the child resides with? If the child lives with that person, contact is expected.

Unless someone notifies the court or the police ( or whoever filed for the order) nothing will happen. A violation of the order could be filed in family court and criminal charges could be issued. Orders are orders - if you get caught you are going to get in trouble.

If you have a legitimate reason, contact your attorney with the proof. Otherwise, you may lose custody and possibly spend time in jail for contempt of court.

If the other parent complains...Then you would have to explain why you broke the order. If you had good reasons, it's for you to prove it.
