disgust with hoover. They called ghettos in central park of NYC hoovervilles because citizens were frusterated with president Hoover during the great depression

People blamed HOOVER for the shantytowns. They were angry. However they didn't realize or seem to comprehend that it was the policies from the former administration that actually caused the depression.
