Im just wondering why people says: " high megapixel means " the better". Am I right?

I have a plan to buy a digital camera around 8 MP only but I want a very very "CLEAR IMAGE". What is your idea pls?

I dont care about the the said " MEGAPIXEL " because it only means of a " HIGH RESOLUTION" and "HIGH PRINT" and I dont need that. I want only a very " CLEAR CLEAR" image in 8MP camera.

P.S

Its useless if we buy a 10 MEGAPIXEL or higher MEGAPIXEL if the image is blurred, dark and not clear. Am I right?

Digital cameras have a range of different issues in terms of photo quality.

Unless you have some special needs, then the number of mega pixels doesn't really matter. Most of my photos I keep in the computer and email friends or post online. I have to cut them down to a decent size before I do this.

The critical issues are things such as the zoom (optical zoom is better than digital), the speed of the camera (how quickly it takes the photo) and the dynamic range (the ability to handle the contrast between light and dark).

Unfortunately cameras don't really talk about this. There are also issues about settings. My old canon 3 meg camera took better pictures at night than my new canon 6 meg camera. Why? Because the automatic settings for night tend not be the ones I like. But the day time photos are actually much better than my old camera, especially when I taking photos of the sky and clouds I can see this clearly.

The simple rule is avoid the cheap cameras. They may have high mega pixels (or sometimes they use the word effective mega pixels) but the quality of the photo is not that good.

It is hard to test it in the shop, so you need to read good comparitive reviews.

megapixel won't matter in terms of image quality. use tri-pod when taking a picture. this will help and improve image appearance.
