Maybe the fact that someone else is counting on her to be the best mother she can be is a start. Our education tends to match our wallets, no education, no money, no retirement, no benefits... When we take pride in ourselves, we want more for ourselves. Drive and commitment for that infant to have the best life possible will help her to understand just how important her role is now. Good luck and stay consistant on her, she is young and may not fully understand your valid concerns. :)

Help her as much as you can with the baby. I was 18 when I had my first child and I went to college. I had daycare but I still needed someone to watch my child while I studied, after daycare. There was no one. It was hard. Now there's aftercare programs that she could get the baby in. If everyone helps her out she might decide to attend college.

If she has a child that normally most mothers can't put down, it's going to be difficult to get her to go, if YOU wan her to go to college then your will most probably have to sacravice alot, like giving up your spare time to look after the baby when she's at college, and that's even if she agrees to go, she doesn't have to go if she doesn't want to, Think did she have plans to go to college before she had a child.? hope all goes well.

Find out what she wants to do with her life, her goals before she got pregnant. Ask her why she is letting the baby stop her from achieving greatness. The baby is just another person to share with.
It sounds like you're a supportive parent, let her know you are there for her. See what she needs in order to be able to go to school.

She needs $ and support...thats how...She needs low cost daycare or free daycare from parents. Colleges offer this..maybe u could pay...Sit her down and talk to her...offer a few community college catologs and go through them. At 18 yrs , they need a support system and its tough, but its u. Tell ur child that their child will have nothing and be made fun of it u have to. ur child is only 18. Do what u have to! States have free daycare and reduced daycare. Seek help from the state if needed. Whatever it takes!

First, ask her if she wants her child to have a decent future.

Then, show her this:
