Would need more info to answer your question like how much your income is, and whether your future spouse has income also.

For a child, you get a $3300 exemption, which means you don't pay taxes on that much of your income, and also $1000 credit taken off your total tax if you owe that much.

It depends on your income. You get a penalty for being married, but you get a credit for having a child. I think the smallest return you can get is $1000 for a child.
