How can a person know which religion is right?
(1) On what are its teachings based? Are they from God, or are they largely from men? (2 Tim. 3:16; Mark 7:7) Ask, for example: Where does the Bible teach that God is a Trinity? Where does it say that the human soul is immortal?
(2) Consider whether it is making known the name of God. Jesus said in prayer to God: “I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world.” (John 17:6) He declared: “It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.” (Matt. 4:10) Has your religion taught you that ‘it is Jehovah you must worship’? Have you come to know the Person identified by that name—his purposes, his activities, his qualities—so that you feel you can confidently draw close to him?
(3) Is true faith in Jesus Christ being demonstrated? This involves appreciation of the value of the sacrifice of Jesus’ human life and of his position today as heavenly King. (John 3:36; Ps. 2:6-8) Such appreciation is shown by obeying Jesus—sharing personally and zealously in the work that he assigned to his followers. True religion has such faith that is accompanied by works.—Jas. 2:26.
(4) Is it largely ritualistic, a formality, or is it a way of life? God strongly disapproves of religion that is merely a formalism. (Isa. 1:15-17) True religion upholds the Bible’s standard of morality and clean speech instead of weakly going along with popular trends. (1 Cor. 5:9-13; Eph. 5:3-5) Its members reflect the fruits of God’s spirit in their lives. (Gal. 5:22, 23) So, those who adhere to true worship can be identified because they sincerely endeavor to apply Bible standards in their lives not only at their places of meeting but in their family life, at their secular work, in school, and in recreation.
(5) Do its members truly love one another? Jesus said: “By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.” (John 13:35) Such love reaches across racial, social, and national boundaries, drawing people together in genuine brotherhood. So strong is this love that it sets them apart as being truly different. When the nations go to war, who have enough love for their Christian brothers in other lands that they refuse to take up arms and kill them? That is what early Christians did.
(6) Is it truly separate from the world? Jesus said that his true followers would be “no part of the world.” (John 15:19) To worship God in a manner that he approves requires that we keep ourselves “without spot from the world.” (Jas. 1:27) Can that be said of those whose clergy and other members are involved in politics, or whose lives are largely built around materialistic and fleshly desires?—1 John 2:15-17.
(7) Are its members active witnesses concerning God’s Kingdom? Jesus foretold: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14) What religion is really proclaiming God’s Kingdom as the hope of mankind instead of encouraging people to look to human rulership to solve their problems? Has your religion equipped you to share in this activity, and to do it from house to house as Jesus taught his apostles to do?—Matt. 10:7, 11-13; Acts 5:42; 20:20.

Hello, Bandi I am one of Jehovah's Witness and have been for about 10 years now. I was not raised as one, and it took two kind witnesses to knock at my door for me to find what the bible really says. To the world, in the main, yes we are weird, but that is because we do not go with the flow as most religions do. The bible is literally our/my guide to how to live pleasing my Creator. Another witness I see, has already set out what we believe so I shall not waste your time repeating it, but I do urge you to ask a witness or look into our faith in the appropriate manner, for there are many who will give you false ideas! Of course, that is the main reason we knock on the door, in the hope that one will want to visit a kingdom hall, but that is not how we do it! It has to come from you; so if you said yes to a study, there is absolutely no obligation for you to join our faith. I have two studies at the moment, but will wait until they tell me that they want to visit our hall. By the way, one of the most wonderful things I learnt was that our Creator has a personal name - Jehovah, hense the reason why we are called: Jehovah's Witnesses because we do give a witness about him. Thank you very much for being so nice in your asking.

It is interesting to note that the average Witness of Jehovah studies the bible, carefully analizing, comparing and cross referencing information they are learning for an average of 2.5 years before making the decision to become a Witness. Typically, people begin their studies some what skeptically. It is not a decision that is made hastily, it is a decision they make having proven to him or herself that what the Witnesses teach IS based entirely on an accurate understanding of the bible (and no, we do not have a different bible than everyone else- we have simply stuck to what the bible says and eliminated the man made ideas and doctrines that are common to churches today)
I became a Witness 13 years ago after putting forth a most noble and valliant effort to disprove Witness teachings and the bible. I used 7 different bible translations, Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and Lexicon and researched the secular historical record . What I discovered was that the teachings of churches (like the trinity etc) are not only man made, the man made origins are a matter of historical record. Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religion that truly stick to the bible. The only one that rejects ALL of the man made traditions and doctrines... and they are the only religion that lives up to the same moral standard that the early Christian Congregation did and who suffer the same kind of persecution that Jesus and his apostles did, for the same reasons. Oh yes, there is also the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religious group that is preaching the "good news of God's Kingdom to all the nations" as required of Jesus followers "before the end comes".
If Jehovah's Witnesses are not the "Right religion" then the right religion does not exist.

Yes, they do and I have had one tell me that God will not give salvation to anyone who is not a "Witness". This includes people that have done much for humanity like Mother Teresa etc. Religion cannot dictate what God will do! It is God that sees the thoughts and heart of a person and it is God who will judge all! I will not presume to speak for the Lord and judge for Him! I do not think anyone else is qualified to do this either! Teaching this is wrong! The Bible says that whosoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved! It does not limit salvation to just Jehovah's Witnesses!

Yes I do believe that my way of worship is the way that Jehovah wants to be worshiped. I carefully examined the teachings of this religion in the light of the Bible. Then I dedicated my life to serve Jehovah and symbolized it by water baptism on May 18, 1968. I have never regretted it. I look forward to serving Jehovah forever.

OF course it is the only right one or else we would go to the one that is the right one.
And yes, every other one is wrong, because there can't be two right ones.

Why not? Catholics think that they are the only right ones. Amish believe they are the only right ones. Jewish people think they are the only right ones. Why shouldn't they?
