You can never go wrong with a nice dress and heals. Make sure the dress isn't too loud, or white (that's reserved for the bride). To dress it up a bit more for the evening, wear a lightweight shawl. Another choice would be a nice top and skirt, which could also be upgraded for the evening with a lightweight shawl. Because the wedding and reception are early, you don't have to get all dressed up in an outfit with a lot of bling. Relax and have fun!

MAYBE. It depends on your church and also, well, common sense. If you are a DD, it is just in bad taste to be hanging out of your wedding gown at any wedding, really. Let alone a religious wedding. Although it is said that God looks at the heart. ;) We had a Catholic Mass (Cathedral) wedding. I asked my priest numerous times about what limitations were put on gowns, as my gown was a mermaid style. He always said to me that he wasn't a fashion designer, and what was "modest" to him might be immodest to a 90 year old lady. ;) In other words, he didn't really care, just use some common sense, apply basic modesty, and don't have your breasts flopping around or a slit up your dress for the entire congregation to see. He specifically said that strapless was fine, again, just use common sense. Don't show up in a white bikini, Pamela Anderson style. ;) However, some priests are not so laid back when it comes to gown styles. Many will require your shoulders to be covered, and this actually is not unique to only Catholic weddings. So it's not uncommon to wear a little jacket or caplet over your gown. If in doubt, it's best to cover up more than less. You need to directly ask YOUR priest. It is entirely up to them and your Church's rules. Strangely enough, my Church was very strict on everything (I.e. music) but the dress code. So there is no real way to tell unless you directly ask. And err on the side of caution if you get any sign that the priest may not look favorably on a strapless gown. They'll either tell you directly or you should be able to get the hint. All of this said, I don't think it will be a big deal based on personal experiences, but it all depends on your Church. Good luck! P.S. I am all for modesty, believe me, but many Catholic brides and grooms are no longer virgins, which to me would be more of a "sin" than baring your shoulders. It seems a little old fashioned to nit pick wedding gown trends in this day and age. I personally am not offended when I see strapless gowns for religious weddings, as long as the bride uses common sense.

The real answer:
1. Classy = Sleeves or a shawl. Lace or lightweight. No plunging necklines.
2. Wedding = NO white, and no black, either. Pastels work well.
3. Appropriate = Tasteful jewelry. Find your pearls.
If your hair is long, consider putting it up where it can be out of the way and avoid making you hot. Be sure to not notice (read: don't comment about) the heat, the rain, or anything else that makes you uncomfortable; your dissatisfaction will be noted and not appreciated.
I bet the ceremony will be beautiful. Have fun!

The same thing you would wear to a Protestant wedding in June. Seriously though, a nice suit of breathable fabric would work well. If you aren't Mexican, no one expects you to dress as if you were.

Something like these would work but you need something to cover up with for the actual ceremony
