No muslims will not hurt by your avoidance to accept Islam because there is no force for becoming a muslim.Allah spoke in Surah 109 Al Kaafiruun that your religion is yous and my religion is mine.I will not worship your God and you do not need to worship my own God.too.What is your religion you must take your own responsibility .But we muslims do not treat you as our enemy and we do not hate you.Accepting or not accepting Islam depends on your choice and your heart and also your faith .But I hope God will show you a right path so you can live happily and securely here in this world and in the life after death..Our lives in this world are very short .It is like in a drama or a show.

1. The very first thing that Islam disapproves is hypocrisy (the state of a munaafiq), that is, acting outward in dishonesty for a purpose, while the inner beliefs contradict with outward actions. Quran stated: "There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower. (2:256)"
2. Muhammad is simply a messenger and so do we to non-Muslim. "The guiding of them is not thy duty (O Muhammad), but Allah guideth whom He will. And whatsoever good thing ye spend, it is for yourselves, when ye spend not save in search of Allah's Countenance; and whatsoever good thing ye spend, it will be repaid to you in full, and ye will not be wronged. (2:272)". In another verse, Allah said: "We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom. (14:04)"
3. "And warn mankind of a day when the doom will come upon them, and those who did wrong will say: Our Lord! Reprieve us for a little while. We will obey Thy call and will follow the messengers. (It will be answered): Did ye not swear before that there would be no end for you? (14:44)

I am not a Muslim, but it seems that if I do not accept Islam, they want to hurt me, i.e. kill me.
I suppose that if a more zealous Muslim felt that a less zealous Muslim weren't doing his job by converting me or killing me, they might kill him too. So, in a way, yes, it could conceivably hurt a Muslim if you did not want to accept Islam.
Islam is to be spread by the sword.

Islam means simply submit our self to the will of Almighty God.
The person who submits completely to The God Almighty, called Muslim.
Since first Human and Prophet Adam, including Prophet Abraham, Moses, Jesus, till last and final Messenger and Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Almighty on all of them), came to give humanity same message to submit to one true The God, Creator of universes, every living/nonliving things in/on universes.
God Almighty told to all prophets to deliver My message and leave the rest to God Almighty.
Since now no more Prophet or messenger will come it is the duty of Followers of Holy Prophets to invite people towards truth and right path. Leave rest to Almighty.
It is our duty to invite with sincerity and with positive attitude.
in the mean time it duty of every righteous person to spread good and try to stop evils in society, preferably with hands, if not, with tong, if not possible then at least feel bad about evils, if no power to stop evils, by any means.
Again inviting towards true religion is must but without force, leave this matter on The God Almighty. Spread good, try to stop evils by any possible means.

ya know,..i completely agree with you....it does hurt them a lot
i stopped coming to this religion n spirituaality section just coz i got a band of muslims after me trying to tell me thier god and allah is the best,supremo...and what not!
its ridiculous!.....i ultimately left this section.....they suck....n yeah..i HATE islam
