I would accept someone I met on line to be my bf but I would wait until I got to know him really well then I would want to meet before I truly considered my bf. There are a lot of creeps out there so you do have to be careful. But even if the creeps outnumber the good guys there are some good guys out there. And if you meet a good guy on line they Will gladly take things slow so you can get to know them, because they know how hard it is to trust someone you meet on line. I do know several people you have met on line and now are married and still happy .
So I would date someone I met on line...

it can be but if you take some common sense precautions like only meeting in a public place until you get to know them --- its not really any more dangerous than meeting someone in person ---- i have met a few ladies and i met the love of my life online --- i trust her completely (yes its possible for guys to be the victim)

If you feel that he is 'the right match' for you.........go for it. But at the same time.....dont open your heart & let your feelings be known to him. Meet him over coffee in company of a reliable friend of yours. Ask for your friends' opinion as well post meeting.

If everything goes as per your expectations, continue meeting until you are fully convinced that you have made the right decision & then this relationship can be taken forward.

Do not be in a hurry to share your personal information.

i would never do this,
yes, it is extremely dangerous.
i would never meet anyone i met online in person either.
how do you know if they are legit?
how do you know he's not a 50 year old paedophile?
i'm sure you've heard this all before, and deep down you konw the answer because you already mentioned you thought it was dangerous.

It is dangerous. Be cautious of what personal information you offer. If he pushes you too hard to meet or to show him a photo or to do something you don't want to do, just forget him. Leave him be and ignore him. Take care of yourself.

I mean what really is an online boyfriend....are you going to meet this person and kick it. online boyfriend is just that....some online ish. If that person is withn reach...then i wouldnt do it without really getting to know them...but if he doesnt know where u live and all your personal info...then whats the harm someone to talk to share truths and lies....no harm in that.

no. what the hell would that show anyways? you never met the person never saw them. you may have a commitment if you do but that doesn't mean you have to stick with it. you don't know anything about that person. even if they are who they say they are. and if you go to meet them. go meet in an open area in public in case they are psycho

no....it is dangerous

not to mention...its pathetic. ppl who can't get bf's/gf's in reality go out w/ppl on the internet just so they can say they have a boyfriend/girlfriend and its not like you will ever see or talk to them. Those ppl need to get a life.
