Those parts of Jesus' life weren't mentioned in the bible.

You'll just have to read 'within' the contexts of the scriptures to discern what he did during those times. Here are some verses that may help.

> John 7:15 The Jews therefore marveled, saying, "How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?"
- Notice that some jews were able to make a matter-of-fact statement / observation about Jesus never studying. Could they have seen him all the while as he was growing up?

> Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him.
- It is reasonable to say that Jesus worked as a carpenter just as Joseph was in the duration of his younger years.

> Acts 1:1-3 In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with ALL THAT JESUS BEGAN TO DO and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. To them he presented himself alive after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
> Luke 1:3 It seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an ORDERLY ACCOUNT for you, most excellent Theophilus,
- One must simply trust and rely on what Luke has recorded about Jesus' life, unless he missed something.

Hope that helps, just a humble bible reading atheist here.

There are texts by people who were heretics that had some writings dealing with His pre-ministry years. They are the Gnostic texts. ...Many deliberately attempting to corrupt the faith.

There are also some that seem to be in tune with scripture - but had no validation... just as there is an Apocrypha between the Testements... the New Testament "additions" would be the Pseudopigrapha (sp?)...

I haven't a clue how to tell you where to go online... I just found one in print years ago.

I read it with the idea that I'm reading fiction - since the texts weren't canonized.... and it's been ages since I looked at the wild and woolly stuff.

I hope I've at least given you a direction to look... Just hide the Word of God in your heart BIG time before looking at them... and ask God for the Gift of discernment concerning them. Never let the Devil deceive you with alternative texts. Test them against God's Word and with the Holy Spirit - our teacher.

Peace, darlin.

I ask as college professer this question once and he told me that Jesus was growing up and becoming a man.

He was the oldest in his family and needed to be there and help with that and until is brothers and sister were older married and taking care of themself he could not do what he needed to do..

That is why there are no storys of him in his teen years or younger in the bible.

As any good Jewish boy did during his day... He studied the Scriptures. He was admired at 12 for His knowledge of the Old Testament by scholars of His day. A Jewish boy during that day was required to memorize entire books of the Bible. His training was intense and it prepared Him for His ministry in His adult life.

This part of his life was edited out during the Nicene council. There were some accounts of this time (the apocryphal gospels). They are now out of the regular canon. Here's a link to some of these writings, below.

That was left out. See...he had a couple jobs, but day-dreamed a lot and got fired a few times. He was drinking a lot back then and had a few girlfriends who thought he talked too much. THEN he went to AA and got all into it. Now he thinks he's so special and he's going to heaven and tells other people how they can get there too...if they follow him.

Then he gets arrested and sent to prison and now everyone takes off for many, many years until a Roman Emperor makes him a freakin' HERO. OH NOW EVERYONE wants a piece of this bandwagon..."Hey bro, Emperor Constantine says Jesus is cool now, man."
"Awesome! Lets wear a cross and kill everyone around us!"
"Yeah!"

That about sums it all up.

Jesus is God in man form, he had to experiance life as a human. So during his teenage years he was learning, and going through hard times just like you, and me.
Now you can never say he doesn't know what it's like, he knows.

Well, since he was Jewish, he was probably doing what other Jewish boys his age would be doing: studying the Torah (he did become a rabbi, after all, so obviously he studied the Torah), worked with his step-father Joseph in being a carpenter, spent time in prayer, kept his family obligations and spent every day as a good Son. Surely God used him to speak to people; neighbors, family members, etc. He probably went to Jewish events (feasts, holidays). He attended synagogue. I wouldn't be surprised if he shepherded sheep and fished.

Puberty is a difficult enough experience to go through without everybody prying. Give the poor schmuck a break.

However, since the Bible assures us that He was pure and without sin, we have to assume that he somehow made it through without once fondling himself. Now that was a miracle!
