I think this needs to be seriously clarified trolling is an action such as provocative in nature which is a very easily interchangable trait arguing online is what it is, if someone were trolling on the street wouldn't you just see them as the irrational person or seeker of attention they were and walk on by. Therefore to call someone a troll when there not is a true troll underhanded deed or a cop out of an argument because fear of losing in response to the mislabeling or misuse of the word. I dislike the term especially because its seeming ties to self confidence and norms of the outside world if you can't ignore a troll in most cases you become just a bad as one why bother. If I see a troll in a forum I just laugh with them or ignore them depending on what they are saying but mostly its an oppurtunity to train my wits. Sometimes I find they will actually offer something of value after that to the conversation because I didn't support negativity in a certain manner. The truth is really that there is way too much negativity in the world and a good number of people lack the abilities or willpower to deal with it.
