How do you know if your pretty/attractive?
Would people (namely the opposite) sex stare at you? Would people tell you that they thought that you were pretty?
I realize how superficial this question is but it is something that I've been pondering upon for quite some time now.

pretty much if you catch a guy staring at you or whistle and you get it alot then your freakin hot!

Well this is what i know or assume:
Pretty: is usually associated with cute, she has nice facial features, &what she dresses in is cute
attractive: this can be a genralistic tearm, not a specific compliment, almost like say "she aint that bad" meaning that their are some of her features that could appeal to the guy, be it her eyes, her walk, her body.
those are the two u asked for the others are: beautiful, and sexy

Your question is very valid but you have answered your own question within the question. Its because they are "pretty/attractive". There are a million guys that will cater to their every whim simply because of what they look like, therefore they know that if you won't do what they want, they can easily find another guy who will.

My sister is very beautiful, though somewhat oblivious to her beauty because she's very young. Firstly, men are very, very nice to her all the time. They lift heavy objects for her, or buy her candy from vending machine. She has a very easy time going through the world because men are very gracious to her. When you're beautiful the world is just a little less hostile. Both my sisters and I have been told at times that we were beautiful and we have this large network of men of all ages and walks of like who will bend over backwards to do things for us, even if we don't ask them. A pretty face is a nice calling card

I will use the old saying, "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder". Some of the women I think are hot, my friends find horrendous and vice versa. Anyway, it seems attractiveness is defined by how symmetrical the face/body is. The better the symmetry, the more attractive the person.

People are not about to blurt out how down right drop dead gorgeous you are. Unless you are are disfugured and they are incredibly rude, the opposite sex stares at the pretty ones and trip over their fallen jaws at the same time,

I know because I have eyes and a mirror. Yeah attention from males reinforces the idea but I know it first.
