You know a lot of people wish that the person they are going out with/involved with was their best friend. So now you have a decision to make.
The question is "Are you willing to take the chance that you could loose your Best Friend, because you want a relationship, and he has already said he doesn't want one (with anyone)?"
If the answer is yes, then go for it.
If no, then leave things as they are, and who knows, something may develop later on.
Either way, only you can decide which you want more.

you're right it might ruin your friendship, but then again it may make a great marraige also. If you can see the two of you having a wonderful marraige then go for it because your husband/wife should always be your best friend! Of course that saying is meant for after the fact! (after you are already married) If you don't see the relationship being able to have the possibility of marraige then don't do it. After all, you don't want to lose your best friend! If you can't ask him out then tell your friends to drop clues to him that you are very interested in more than just friendship and he needs to ask you out or you could drop subtle hints to him that you want him as a boyfriend!

Love or "dating" can ruin a friendship forever. Then again it can be the best decision you ever make in your life. But if you aren't sure and just sort of like him I would say wait. Let your friendship grow and if it's meant to be then it will happen. Don't push for it if he isn't ready and willing. You might lose him in the process and that can be devistating. Just let things happen. Love with a bestfriend can be great but it takes time. Let it grow. He's not going anywhere.

Do it.

Some of the best lifelong partnerships (marriages or other) start as best friends.

Just make sure there is that sexual spark between you both, Good mates will always be mates, but if you dont have the hots for each other, you never will

If you do not want to ask him out....lay a kiss on him when the moment is right...if you two are close..you'll know exactly when to do it!
