I personally feel that both people should use one of the means of safe sex open to them, as this gives both people a feeling of safety and control. You should do both since that way you are both taking responsibility for your safety.
The responsibility for safety should be shared, and not rest soley on your shoulders.

Tell him no condom no sex!

The birth control pill, shot, patch and other forms of birth control dont protect you from STDs.

I think you should go on the pill as double protection, mistakes happen quite frequently with condoms, and a tear or slip can be the most stressful thing in the world.

And when you think about it does "passionate" love really have to do with a condom? I think not. Tell him and suggest that there are plenty of other ways he can make you happier in bed.

CONDOM or NO SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its your decision not his!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he wont be the one getting fat off of the pill, he won't be the one impregnated, he wont be the one going through the pain of labor, he wont be the one with the emotional ties that pregnancy causes. Its all on you so you hav eto stand up for your self and make the right decision. There are female condoms too just so you know.

But like you said your mom was taking the pill and still got pregnant, it happens. Thats just one of the many obstacles that having sex causes. Be ready for them if you choose to have sex.

If i was you i would use a condom because unless your married and even then you aren't positive that he doesn't have any std's and if he's pushing you like this than he's probably more likely to have one. But follow your heart and be prepared to handle the consequences if they arrive
