I personally watched my PLT leader charge across an open field of fire with small arms fire and RPK machine gun fire incoming to rescue an Iraqi boy that had been hurt. I personally scrambled up a burning Bradley to yank some one out burning my hands in the process. I have seen many cases like this. I watched Iraqi interpreters fight by our side even though if enemy forces found out who they were they would rape and murder their families. I have seen it all and I have also seen small boy with cancer in our boy scout troop here in Korea take part in activities to help others out even though he needs help himself. I live by the Army Values and especialy personal courage and self less service. I know of many stories including my grandfather at 15 lying about his age to join the marines and hitting the beaches in WWII at 16 and iwo jima on his birthday and my uncle in vietnam who earned a distinguished navy cross for staying under fire etc and rescuing his fellow buddies including throwing a steel pot helmet and a sand bag on a gernade and putting his weight on it and losing chunks of his flesh and than getting a M2 machine gun up and running again but you said what have I personal witnessed ....... Shadow Stalker
EDIT: why did someone give me a thumbs down for this :(? .... Shadow Stalker

Militarily: A Flight Deck crewman who rushed (unprotected) into the burning flames of a Tomcat ramp strike to rescue the Pilot who had ejected after impact and landed in the fuel.
Civilian: Myself and four other neighbors rushed into a burning apartment building (3 story) to clear out the 6 apartments. before the Fire Dept got there. There were 3 children up on the 3rd floor where the fire started.
UPDATE:
Mr. phattphatt. While I agree with you about Jesus. I do not think you are over 2000 years old. I believe the question stated "PERSONALLY WITNESSED" and call me silly ,but I dont think you were actually there.
Also I would love to know who gave Shadow Stalker a thumbs down as I would love to personally witness his/hers butt kicked.

I saw the liftoff of Apollo 11 from the press stands at John F. Canaveral (Kennedy Space Center, FL) on July 16, 1969 and that was the only time in my life I ever saw the whole world, not just the USA agree with one another.

a squad in my old unit was loading up in the trucks and about to head out to provide back up for fellow americans in a firefight in iraq.... my buddy Dan told his gunner Stu that he wanted to switch places (making stu the driver that day and dan the gunner) because he knew that the firefight was going to be really rough (4 IEDs had already gone off in a daisy chain and there were over 30 insurgents on the roof tops shooting off AKs and RPGs) and he wanted Stu to be able to go home in a couple months to his wife and daughter........... Less than an hour later we were told that Dan had been shot in the side and the bullet had gone straight to his heart and he had been determined dead on arrival to the combat hospital. We all still talk about him constantly... he was like a brother to everyone in the unit.

Meds are ok for brief term, yet you may discover what makes you chuffed and try off that. For me, only shifting to Colorado close to the mountains made a great distinction!

I was about to die, and I deserved it, and a man that I had hardly noticed stepped up in a manner that so intimidated those who were about to murder me for my offenses against them that they took him and let me go. They horribly tortured him with beating unmercifully. They even ripped out his beard and tore off half his skin. Then they hanged him , slowly, till he died. He was the bravest man i ever knew, and the toughest. After they took him to his grave , they put guards about his grave. After 3 1/2 days he rose from the dead and ascended on high and He forever lives to make intercessions for all our sins.. He is The Lord Jesus Christ..
