Am not forgetful but am very disorganized in the sense that I start projects and do not complete them or overextend myself.
I also jump from subject to subject when conversing with people. Anybody else like me out there?

We ALL have some of these symptoms sometimes. Just use this information as a tool for understanding your behavior. You need to learn ways to overcome and work with your symptoms. Don't get too worried, lots of very successful and happy people have ADD.

I have no "official" diagnosis, but I pretty much know I have it.

I am like you sometimes. I have just started over the past few years to practice better coping skills - like making myself stay on a task until I get to what I pre-determine will be the stopping point.

I feel sad for you that you see this as a bad thing - I have found the way I am is a blessing in some areas. What at times is mental disorganization at other times lends itself to more creativity and imagination than my unaffected peers. I think you can find good points to how you are as well if you look for them.

I hear you on the overextension issue! It is something that takes training as well I think. I have learned over time to set limits on what I will commit to doing or on what I will begin - no matter how ready I feel to tackle it. No more than a specified number of tasks at one time is the rule. If I really want to take another one on I have to finish or finalize one.

I don't know if that helps. I'm kind of glad I wasn't diagnosed as a child. I would not trade how I am for a less "flighty" state that can serve me well if I harness it properly.

I am just like you. I was diagnosised with ADD and i did decide to take medication that was celexa.. which has less side effects then ridilion.. which i refused to take.

I more organized and finished projects. I just can't leave them be. I just do the best that I can and If you need help ask for the help.

you jump from subject to subject because your brain is going a million seconds where your trying to converse with everyone and it feels like your heads going to explode.

I've tried these methods, not all of them work for everyone .

I do take medicine, I mediate, i listen to music. If i can not complete a task I simple ask for help or ask for a different assignment that you know that isn't going to fry your brain. You can try accupuncture and even tai chi. I have done this and my life is so much better, and I got to therapy which helps tremendously

Although I do struggle with it everyday I refuse to let it run my life. I am 36 years old. I suffer from ADD,dyslexia, and anxiety, but I don't let it rule me life. Life is not gone. Life just begain for you. You know what is wrong now the rest is up to you.
