People get angry when talking about God because He represents righteousness and holiness. Also, people understand that God requires people to give up all the evil things they love. So when you strike up a conversation about the Lord, their fleshly lusts rise and fight about the truth concerning. Fear of God is not always the issue, but rather surrendering to Him totally is what most people have a issue with. In addition, when people are wrestling with coming to God, they have a fear of what others think of them. And whether they will lose their frienships with their worldly friends. There are a lot of things which come into play as to why people get angry when discussing God.

Is says somewhere in the bible that Satan makes bad things look good and good things look bad. People who are afraid of God or angry at God are being influenced by Satan. I was afraid to go back to church and Jesus. But when I did I realised that following Jesus is more freedom than I have ever known. Best wishes.

He doesn't scare me. I do not need to defend God. He can and does take care of that just fine by Himself thank you very much.
What bothers me is people asking questions about verses that are totally taken out of context or exploited to obtain certain responses that will only serve to try and shame the name of Jesus. Please do not ask me a question if you do not want the truth.

People are really into what they believe. They want the other person to think that they are right and the other person is wrong.

Men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil.
That is what the Bible says about it.
When you mention God you are shining light on their dark deeds.

No, but his followers do. They want to force their beliefs on everyone around them and legislate their version of morality. That makes them pretty scary people, in my book.

God/No God = Reality.
Threaten reality, Scare the person.
God is not scaring them. They are scaring themselves.
