I am madly in love with a woman that is 23 yrs older than me. When we are together everything is great. We have been through a tremendous amount of ups and downs and always manage to still be together. The problem is she is afraid to tell her friends that she and i are more than just friends because she is afraid of what they will think. My questions are does the age really matter and if you were a friend of hers would you support her?

Age is just a number, the number doesn't matter.
If I was a true friend of hers, I would be able to tell if she was happy or not. When my friends are happy, I support their decisions, I don't judge them.
Now if my friend seemed to be having some issues or reservations, I might wonder if you two were right for each other. You said you've been through tremendous ups and downs, hhmm???
Maybe she's unsure of the "relationship"(not your age) and this is the reason she doesn't tell her friends.
Without more details....all I can say is....age doesn't matter between two consenting adults. Good luck to both of you.

I really think that it depends on the ages of those involved. If one is a teen and the other adult, red flag. If both are mature adults, less reason for concern. I still believe there can be obstacles that present themselves because of an age difference. But, all relationships have obstacles so it really is a matter of how mature and dedicated the individuals are at working through those obstacles.

I believe age matters in two situations:

1. If either person wanted kids and she a lot older than the guy.

2. If the girl is under age.

My parents are a 30 year diff, dad's older... They ended up divorcing b/c they grew apart... Other people I know that have such a diff also divorced b/c they grew apart... You probably don't see it as such.. But if this were my mom... I wouldn't like it.. If she were a friend of mine, I'd say go for it... If you do end up together, I hope you all don't divorce.. Good luck friend!!

as long as its legal, its fine. The "toy boy" is totally in!!

But, its a proven fact that men mature much later than women... but if you feel its right, then go for it.

BUT IF YOUR UNDER 18, END IT NOW!!!

It shouldn't be a problem but it can be. Tread carefully.
