It absolutely bothers me. Especially if it is a range connected to a golf course. Everyone does NOT have the right to be there. Golf is for all cultures, races, sexes, and creeds. The doors to golf should be open to all except the IDIOTS! Most of the morons who are out there showing no respect are the same jerkys who talk during movies or get drunk and try to start the wave at a critical moment in a game that you paid $100 a ticket to be at. Learn to respect the game or try competitive eating. You can't make too much noise when you are trying to stuff down 50 hot dogs in 12 minutes.

Actually, everyone doesn't have the RIGHT to be there. Using a private facility is a privilege, purchased with cash. RIGHTS are granted by constitution or law, and not every freedom that we enjoy is a right. If a patron abuses their previlege to use the range, they can legally be asked to leave and not given access again in the future with no rights being violated.
Once given admission, patrons should treat each other with respect. While yelling, screaming and carrying on in the manner described are not acceptable, you also cannot expect everyone at the range to be practicing with the same intensity that you do. If others are being truly disruptive, contact the range management, they don't want this type of activity either.

As a guy that has just started trying to learn how to golf 2 years ago, I believe that people take it too seriously in the driving range. I think that it is a sport and should be enjoyable. I hit the barriers quite a bit in the beginning and got dirty looks a lot by people that evidentally forgot that they were there once too. Public driving ranges are there for people to learn and have fun. If ya want peace and quiet, then pay for the country club membership. If anything, playing with the noise should make ya a better player. You can learn to concentrate on your game instead of worrying about your surroundings. I kinda like the laughing and the yelling its made me a better player. Its all just a sport guys, it should be fun, remember that.

Yah! It really makes my blood boil man... I go to the range to practise and I hope to get full concentration while I am at it. I hate it whenever the person next to me thumbs the club on the ground making a "thud" sound after each bad shot he made. I am also frustrated with people talking loudly in groups or on the phone trying to tell everybody that he is such an 'indispensable' person. Top on my hate list is hear someone trying to teach a newbie how to execute a proper shot and when he do it himself... oh my god... its another newbie that either hits a big banana, a fat shot or in most cases thin!
Practice range is not a playground, I believe one should respect others so that others can respect them too. For me, I just kept quiet and continue to practise, while my blood kept boiling... sigh....

Everyone has the same right to be there. I try to go to the end, most of the types you mention don't want to walk all the way to the end of the tee box. Also, if you are really hitting good shots, they tend to notice and be a little more respectful.

No, it doesn't bother me when people have fun. I am a serious golfer and I've found myself out with my buddies swinging for the fences.
People like that provide revenue for the driving range and help keep it there.

When that happens do you tell the person nicely not to behave so? For example saying, "Excuse me Sir, please don't do that, I know you are having a bad day but don't take it out on the equipment."
Try it, it will work.
